If you put the time in to be PhD they why wouldn't I talk to you about it? And I think its call newbie central at least I thought. Maybe it should be dumb ass central idk but keep asking because there no stupid questions.
Because I like to help those who help themselves.... if I see someone trying hard and just needs a little "guidance"...or "direction"... I'm first in line to help....u flat out said u didn't wanna do hours of research u wanted answers now...or something like that....anyway....

OK well a minute ago u said u don't wanna do hours of research u want answers now...now ur saying uve done a lot of research....like I said...anyways...I don't understand actually coming to this site and trusting the word of strangers on what to do to ur plants w out much much of ur own research...I mean that's pretty dumb if u ask me and something I would never do myself or advise to anyone....I never joined riu to learn to grow..I joined to interact w growers...ppl who have the same interest and passion as I do...to show off my plants was another big big reason...I mean hell yeah who doesn't wanna show off their plants???....and I'd say a lot of ppl are like me w nobody to really show their plants to cause they keep their grows very private...hell the only living creatures to ever see my plants are me and my cat...my dog n my wife don't even come in there...ha my dog can just tell I'm serious bout somthin in that room so she won't even come past the door...its funny.... anyway I'm hi n rambling...rollitups for fun man...shits n giggles and exchanging ideas...u learn on ur own...imo

nothing against noobs, we were all one at some point... but

i never once had to ask a dumb question.
i searched online for all the information i needed, not asked for handouts.

I currently exchange experiences with fellow growers over nutes, equipment, and techniques.
which is one thing...

basically my only 2 issues with new growers.

asking if a plant is male/female. identifying male/female is just about the easiest thing you can do.
yield questions. yield is just about impossible to guess. and jesus christ, you get what you get. NEVER plan for a certain yield until you've dialed in a grow. period.
that and other shit that you should be able to figure out with some basic common sense are things you should NEVER need to ask.

you honestly don't need to ask anyone a single question. you can learn everything you need to know with some time into research.
people just hate doing the work i suppose.

Seriously.

Male/female and yield questions are really dumb questions.

Amazingly stupid questions.

Another one that really annoys me. "Can you tell which strain this is like is it kush or something?"

Dumbest question in the world.

i read everything i could for 3 months before floating a seed , i spent near 12 hrs a day reading overgrow word for word and i came away with a couple of things

1 do not ask fuckin stupid questions
2 do not believe everything you read

and ive taken this to heart , i want to help people for sure , at times ill come over all forgiving and answer any question asked , i wont say hit the search button you lazy twat and were not here to wipe your arse for you , i just skim on past feeling slightly guilty ive not helped someone but then most dont exactly help themselves , second point is given the quantity of miss info or simply wrong info its easy got a little confused so i do take pity on these bods , when info is simply wrong its a duty to pass on the correct info , todays newbee is tomorrows chemdog creator potentially

so if im a grumpy bastard then i dont mean to be

Well I guess I joined the wrong site then. I thought this site was for people to get info from great growers. I research the internet but as you know it says different stuff about the same issues. So I was join hoping I could get straight answer because if want to know something I'd like to know now not spend hours online. So I guess I will find a site were there's no dumb questions.
"Dumb question" is relative. If you were to post a picture of a clone, and ask us what it will yield.. our answer would be simple. "We have no way of predicting the future, and if we did.. we'd be multi-dollar billionaires working in a defense field of the military" (to which the new poster/OP would tell us to stop being a smartass)- short of being able to predict the future, and how you would grow it.. methods used, how often you check on it and alter/fix issues.. we have no damn clue.

Another one "Why does my PPM keep going up while pH is dropping?" This.. is basic horticulture, and for those extremely new to growing.. I highly recommend a few well-known/documented horticulture books so you can get a solid understanding of how a plant works at a basic level, not cannabis specific. (To start) - after you have a solid background of fundamentals, then and only then should you attack the advanced concepts books, grab a copy of Robert C Clarkes 'Advanced Marijuana Botany' book, and others related to it so you can understand how cannabis specifically handles things, and how to avoid some of the common pitfalls, etc. That said, I'd answer this question a few times total, but after that.. it's something that I'd rather not have to repeat and I simply do not have the time to write a horticulture cheat sheet to cover the simple things that are the building blocks for everything else.

You didn't read enough if you floated anything. I love all the paper towel and swimming party stuff for seeds. Damned good thing America's farmers don't plant crops that way.

Drop your seed right from the shipping container into your peat plug, rapid rooter, Root Shooters (love those!) or properly pH adjusted rockwool to keep it simple and get good results. A cheap tray and dome with a reptile heat mat under it from Pet Smart. Spray to keep moist after planting. 2 to 3 days you will see sprouts. Keep moist but keep humidity down. When sprouted remove the dome so moving air can help the stems from the start and place a CFL 6500K right over them.

Do research and read. Then compare what you read with what some say. Some are credible sources of info and don't mind sharing. Others just want to honk their own horn to hear it I guess. I do know I have read some absolutely ridiculous stuff here but most recognize it quickly. Here's my piece of advice to use growing and everywhere else in life - KISS!

I wouldn't trust 90% of what I read on here. If you want real info go to a forum about cultivating tomatoes or peppers. The cannabis crowd tends to think the plant is completely different from growing any other plant in the world.

Hallelujah, Jesus. One reason so many farmers grow weed as a cash crop so they can afford to grow corn (their true passion like pot is ours).

Peppers are a BITCH to raise well. I mean to raise and to have good chiles that taste proper. You have to stay on top of them. I advise those who want to learn to grow pot to buy a single tomato plant at the nursery and raise it. If they can't raise that tomato plant to its end (and that means with good ripe edible tomatoes and a lot of them) then they are not likely to grow pot very well either.

The only thing that gets me is when some starts a new topic asking the same thing the topic under it ask.

i'm just like WTF, i'll let them figure it out i'm not typing it all again.

I'm new here. Haven't ran into any animosity of yet. I've only posted once though.
But I did some reading before planting or posting. But reading can only get you but so much. Especially without background knowledge to build on.

I made a post for more specific information on my specific grow because everyones plant isn't the same. And a book can't necessarily tell me exactly what to do by looking at my plant either.

Still looking for some comments on my grow situation right now too:

fella theres a very very very good reason to float your seeds , i can explain it for you if you like ? although this will be going totally off topic

on topic people grow in different ways which creates arguments and hostility , sometimes this can be food for thought and other times it can turn to a shit slinging match , maybe the newbe doesnt have as easy a time as we think , maybe its not just lazyness , maybe the info is hard won ?

There is more than one way to skin a cat. Ironic given your avatar. Just like there is more than one way to germinate. None are the best, they all work.
