Hi Guys,

This is my first proper attempt at growing, so I thought I'd document it for others to learn from/give advice/make fun of how bad it goes. I started by ordering a 130W CFL Kit including reflector and 2 130W bulbs (1x 6400K for Veg, 1x 2700K for Flowering) but quickly discovered that I will want/need more than this.

I got a whole bunch of seeds from Herbie's Pick N Mix (which I can thoroughly recommend - great stealth and 6 day / 4 working day delivery) and I am starting with 2x Female Seeds Lemon Kush (Feminised) and 1x Misc. Bagseed (was 2 bagseed, one died a few days ago).

Right now I have my 3 little sprouts about 3 inches or so under the 130W 6400K CFL in my cupboard for 24hrs/day. They've been potted and in there under light since 20/05/2013 (6 days now). I'm using small 50c pots with a "premium potting mix" and CANNA Terra Vega nutes (currently at 1/6th strength).

Soon they will be moved to the following setup:

Veg
Tent: 80cm x 45cm x 80cm grow tent (2.7 x 1.5 x 2.7 feet)
Lights: 1x 130W 6400K CFL + 2x 45W 2700K CFL + 2x 32W 6500K CFL (284 Total Watts)
Nutes: CANNA Terra Vega

Flowering:
Tent: 120cm x 120cm x 200cm grow tent (4 x 4 x 6.6 feet)
Lights: 1x 600W HPS in Air Cooled hood + 1x 45W 2700 CFL + 1x 32W 6500K CFL + 2x 25W 6700K CFL (727 Total Watts)
Ballast: Digital, Dimmable 600W HPS+MH Ballast
Nutes: CANNA Terra Flores
Exhaust/Odor Control: Only 1x 16cm Fan

Most of those things are arriving this week so right now they're staying in my cupboard. I also need to order some sort of fan/exhaust system, but it's actually very cold here since it's winter (4-10°C at night, 17-18°C under my 130W CFL), so I'm going to test the temperature in the tent with the 600W HPS - I'm hoping the heat from the light balances out the cold.

My idea at the moment is to veg them all for at least 3 more weeks, and then take one or two out to flower, leave the other(s) to veg a little longer, and also germinate some more to eventually have a continual sort of system going on.

Here's some pictures to begin with:

(Day 3 - 22/05/2013 - A - Bagseed was the first to pop it's head out, I'm lettering/naming them in the order they sprout)

So let me know what you think. Any flaws in my plan? Advice on this strain? I'll update soon! :)

You are right about the winter weather helping. Obviously have your lights on at night. It is impossible to grow well indoors in Aus during Summer without a large airconditioner. Good luck cant wait for updates!

(Lemon Kush #2 is little bit of a runt, just marginally)

All my equipment arrived yesterday. I now have all my little guys/girls in their tent. I moved a plant I had been growing near my window into the large tent under the HPS. I won't be documenting that one because I don't see it as a real grow. It stretched a lot and it/s over a meter tall from the window light, but it seems to be reacting well to having a proper light now.

I also just germed/potted some Kerala X Skunk as well. 5 Regular seeds, all free from a Herbie's order. All 5 germed and I'm just waiting for them to pop through the soil. Let's see how they go!

Female seeds lemon Kush is a good smoke, i grew it maybe 5 months ago. Id advise topping or lst'ing that bitch though. Mine was sativa dom and had quite long node spacings

That's awesome to hear. I was a little concerned as they were so cheap, but it looks like they'll be good!

Im going to move one into the flowering tent today. Going to flower it in the small pot just for fun. I'm not looking for massive yields or anything.

ill post more photos later tonight.

Okay so I forgot to post anything that night.

Here is an update from last night:

(Day 13 - 01/06/2013 - C - Female seeds Lemon Kush #2)

I moved this little girl into my flowering tent, yesterday. Got her on a table in a tray under 12/12 600W HPS.

(Day 14 - 02/06/2013 - C - Female seeds Lemon Kush #2)

And this is her today. Hasn't changed much. Just getting a little bigger in every way.

(Day 14 - 02/06/2013 - A - Bagseed) - This one's getting pretty big.

(Day 14 - 02/06/2013 - B - Female seeds Lemon Kush #1) - I'm letting this one veg for a few weeks more than #C, so it's interesting to see how this one is going compared to the other. It looks like putting the other under 12/12 has stunted it's vegging stage a little bit - it's definitely growing faster right now under the 24hr CFL.

(Day 6 - 02/06/2013 - D, E, F,and H - G died  - Kerala X Skunk) - these were free seeds from Herbie's, all regular. These are gonna stay in veg for a while. I'll move them into flowering 1 by 1, perhaps one a week to space them out.
