So in oz we are having a HUGE drought!!
so bad that in queensland where i live the government has us on level 5 water restrictions, meaning now water the garden, washing of cars filling of pools, no hose use, the daily target for a house hold is 140 L a day.

I am fine with most the restrictions except for the 4 minute showers rule.
Has anyone tried having a 4 mintue shower, everyday after work i come home and try to shower in 4 minutes, but working as a landscape gardner/fence/wall builder i am really dirty and grimy by the end of the day and no matter how fast i try to shower i always go over the 4 minute mark. and thats when i dont wash my dreads which takes about 10 if i am really going for it.

So rollitup'ers i want you to try tonight to have a 4 minute shower and tell me how you go.

My girlfriend just came back from studying abroad in Queensland AU late last night.
She was going to James Cook.

4 Minute showers are nuts, I remember back in the day at camp we were limited to 2 minutes.
No kidding, 2 minutes start to finish and there was literally someone standing outside the stall with a timer yelling at you to get your pasty butt out of there.

Never went back to that camp. Haha

oh god man, don't go to Adelaide, its a shit hole!

I lived there for a while when I was in the navy.

I'm from newcastle where its flooding at the moment so I know that I'm probaably not the one that should be giving out drought advice, but living on a naval patrol boat is just as good as living in far north queensland in the middle of the dry season....

the best way to make a shower last is turn it on, get wet (like 30secs max) then turn the water OFF and soap up, turn it back on and rinse off, you can be in and out with about 1 min of water usage.

not the most relaxing shower but at least your saving water.

well Adelaide weather is really bad, you get all 4 seasons everyday of the year. and its beaches suck!

it could be raining in the morning, sunny by lunch time and then freezing by dinner.

Brisbane can be extremely bad in ways of tourists (I lived there as well), but it has a great night life. It's beaches are a bit over rated. and at certain times of the year you may have to be careful of box jelly fish (in some cases people have died from them)

If you ask me I'd stay out of the capital cities if your moving here, they are over populated, expensive, hard to find work, and the beaches are over used, poluted, and dangerous... but you do get hot back packers there.

I like where I ended up after all my travels, I live in Newcastle NSW.

You have some of the best beaches in the world, education is the highest in the country, the unemployment rates are one of the lowest, the crime rate is low, the climate is perfect even in winter when it gets down to 5*c at night you can barely feel it, its only an hour and a half drive to sydney, then theres all the great holiday destinations that are only a few hours drive away like port maquarie, seals rocks, the watagen mountains, glouster tops mountain range, the hunter vally wineries, the central coast, the hunter river fishing spots and not to mention lake maquarie Australia's largest salt water lake... and the list goes on.

honestly I wouldn't trade Newcastle for any where else in the world.

and best of all living in Newcastle is cheep!

in sydney my type of house you'd be looking at over $350AU per week, where as here in newcastle you get a better neighbourhood and it's only $250AU per week!

I may sound biased because I live here but you must remember that I've lived in every capitol city in Australia at some time not to mention all the smaller places I've tracked threw along the way, and I chose Newcastle.
