Australian Animal Cruelty has stopped me wanting to eat meat - COMPLETELY.

I actually get teared-up whenever I start empathizing with these animals.

I've seen heaps of news lately about Australian cattle (Cows, Pigs AND Lambs) being treated so fucking cruely. The video footage on ABC other day showed this cunt sticking the cattle prod against the cows arseholes AND heads at the same time, lambs that haven't been sedated before having their throat slit, and pigs are being beaten up to 7 times in the head with a solid-iron bar.

I've actually sworn off meat since seeing what these fucking human filth do in the abattoirs. Makes me angry AND SO sad, just remembering it. I couldn't even imagine what those cattle are feeling: Hearing all the other animals screaming, the cold concrete and metal warehouse, the over-crowding, and the FEAR they'd have to feel.

Then, on top of that environment, you got cruel, nutless cowards who get *off* on torturing the animals BEFORE killing them.

It's a fucking sick world, but animals can't even speak for themselves, and I fail to understand - on any level - why *anyone* would want to hurt an animal - for any reason at all.

Maybe it's the warehouse worth of drugs I've taken over the past 20 years, but I swear I can empathize so deeply with these cattle I can almost feel how scared they are. And every time I get to that point a tear drips from my eye, I sniffle, and I have to stop thinking about it.

I never really thought myself that much of an animal lover when I was a kid, maybe it's all the fucked shit I've seen/read/heard since that's changed me.

I haven't eaten any meat at all for 3 weeks, and you know, I don't actually miss it a bit.

You don't have to buy cheap meat from the supermarket It's like saying i won't wear clothes again because i just saw a video of child slave labour. It's perfectly possible to obtain things from ethical sources.

Have you given up all technology? Because the likes of chinese get abused to fuck often to the point of suicide by their working conditions so that you can buy your ipods and phones and laptops etc.

I feel some of the animal cruelty laws are there to harrass ranchers that raise animals for food. Animal rights activists don't want us to eat any meat. They would love to Force all of them out business with regulations.
Thenwe will be getting out meat from Mexico an s America who are far less humane and safe an be dependent on other nations for food.

I know there's RSPCA approved products, but the entire idea of thousands of cows getting terrorized then violently killed every day, just so we can sit comfortably and clog out bowels with animal corpse - to me, now - seems just way too red-neck for me.

People have the ability to talk, to plan, to scam, to manipulate their situation. Animals aren't. Animals are shocked into place, and beaten into compliance. How sad is it, that the cow moves when the shock's applied - to STOP THE PAIN, the cow doesn't have a clue that it's getting closer to a bolt through the brain or it's throat slit.

People deserve EVERYTHING they get: Human beings have done nothing but damage - everywhere they've gone - for thousands of years now. So if a few sweat-shop chinese chickens get shafted, who gives a fuck. Fucking teach em right for eating all those dogs.

If you can't stand to watch this video then you shouldn't eat industrialized pork. I grew up on a farm. I understand the circle of life and what it takes to feed a world of 7 billion people. These practices are not so we can have meat to eat, they are so we can have cheap meat to eat. The price for cheaper meat is our humanity.

Animals do indeed know what they are being herded towards. And you say people have the choice and can speak, tell that to the chinese labourers who's families starve if they do not take the job, you talk as if they live in a lovely free country where work opportunities are abundant. They work in god awful conditions for a reason, that reason being they don't have any other choice unless they fancy not eating, they are also often beaten into compliance, be it in a shoe factory or an iphone factory. But you're right, these people should all just die from starvation because of what some other people did.

Animal Welfare groups will never ERADICATE meat as a food.

Look at all the gutless politicians who won't legalize canna. They're running the country, and won't risk a single business lunch for the minority of us who smoke buds, simply because they'd lose their place in parliament.

The issue is not eating animals, it's forcing them to live in inhumane and cruel conditions and giving them a torturous death before we eat them.

And, the notion that so many people have no idea how animals die, and have no ability to sympathize at all with 'an animal' Cows are meat, they don't think! ..

I don't know the percentage either, but I'm quite sure that a LOT of these animals have just as much personality as any dog or cat.
