Day 65 of a 65 to 75 day plant. Shots are from top / middle / bottom on different buds.
Not too happy with the pics. The light on the camera seems to wash out colors, or maybe just glare? Focus is a bitch!!!

general overview

After all that,, I broke out my little hand held Micro. (I do like it better)
From what I saw with that, trics are in early development. Maybe 1/2 full and tons of new ones trying to catch-up.
Loads of slightly cloudy, not too many milky, and didn't find a amber anywhere.
I'd say I definately have another week on this. But really don't know what to expect on a AF (learning as I go).
Frosting up nicely though.
I'll post another trich update at day 70, but I'll be watching closely on a day to day. I'm going to try for the full 75 days and see what I get (maybe longer?).

The digital micro is a genuine PIA!

I've exchanged some side lighting bulbs with a couple top light bulbs in an effort to equalize maturity a bit. But having gone with the sidelight since I first saw frost,, it's looking surprisingly even top to bottom.

Not trying to be an arse,,, but....
Do you actually see a difference in doing the dark thing?
I've done it, and probably will again. But honestly I don't see anything of it. Maybe I'm not looking for the right thing?
With photoperiods I feel I have better luck stressing with light & temps the last few days. Doubt that would work the same with AFs because they're dying anyways. I'll try it on this one anyways,, can't hurt?

This is the one I was refering to and the one Napa was in. Winding down now. But when asked they mentioned another starting around Christmas. It's in the General MJ Grow thread. We'll just need to watch for it.

Yeah, it's actually very simple... the plants produce trichs as a sunblock and the light degrade them, therefore when the lghts are off there is uninterrupted trich production....

You actually saw it?
Reason for asking, couple grows back I tried covering a couple branches with doubled paper bags on a couple branches and continued as usual. In the end I couldn't tell any differeance between the covered and not covered.
Guess my results may not have been conclusive because it was only one plant, one strain, and all.
Probably like flushing? Some swear by it,,, others swear at it. (dunno)

I'm actually taking nugs at different points, ie. before darkness was induced and the plant was still affected by the light, I took one after 12 hrs darkness, 1 after 24, and I'll take another before the chop tomorrow morning. I haven't seen it myself, but I've read about it in very credible MJ books.

I'm sure any strain would do this, it's just a natural reaction the plants have.

Idk about flushing, I'd say if you're using chelated nutrients then you should flush for about ten days, if you're going all organic, no need. I've had two grows where I flushed one plant and not the other. The only difference I noticed (after the cure) was that the flushed bud tasted the same just took longer to dry. But that's not conclusive because I don't use much soluble nutrients, if at all.
i think a lot of the info here can get slightly confusing mainly because so many people swear by it then a bunch of people contradict it, yet you never know who out of those people have actually had experience with it and are the ones you should trust. For me, I trust the books I have 100%, and try to stick to that info as the info I manifest.
