I'm pretty sure since there isn't any veg stage, I should just grow them using low kelvin red spectrum lights...
Is this correct? Just looking for some reassurance.
Since it is an auto flowering strain, I don't think it matters what kelvin range you use. These strains are bred to flower no matter what. I would use a light that puts out the most lumens possible as to ensure lush and thick growth.
Yeah dude, I thought about that too. I have 2 cfl 2700 kelvin bulbs, 900 lumens each, a 125 watt blue spectrum cfl, another 850 lumen cfl, and a 70 watt hps.
That should be pretty good for about 5 Top 44 plants.
Your kelvins will still matter dude. 6400k blue spectrum for first 20-30 days(or until flowers appear) and then 2700k red spectrum for the rest. They do actually have a small veg period. Autoflowering strains like lowryder 2 love CFL's.
Top 44 is not an auto flowering strain. It is similar in that is stays relatively small and has a short flowering period. It is know to be ready for harvest in as little as 6 weeks under ideal conditions but averages 6-8 weeks. I'm sure you can grow some pretty good stuff under the above mentioned lights but I'm not sure if that would be considered ideal. Let us know how it goes. I'm interested in getting some fast flowering seeds for my next grow.
yeah this is only my 2nd grow. my next grow will be done with 400 watt hps lights, and 250 watt envirolites, for veg. I recommend lowryder #2 from Dope-seeds.com. My buddy grew 2 of those under cfls. The smoke is fruity and sweet, pretty potent too.
My next grow will be Lowryder 2 and Aurora Indica.
