Auto-flowering auto-flowers OUTSIDE??

So, I wanna' hide some auto-flowering plants in my tomatoes.:bigjoint: I was wondering if anyone has had experience growing auto-flowering strains outside? I thought about just putting clones out, but I dont want them outside for very long. Auto-flowering strains just seem like a better idea. I'm even considering a regular un-feminized strain to do a seedrun.:blsmoke:

My only questions, and reason for posting this is,... How well do they do in natural environment? I know I shouldn't put them out till' the natural photoperiod is just before mid-summer. I live in the Illinois, and the longest days we get are about 15 or 16 hours.

In a natural photoperiod, do they still harvest in the advertised time? How is its yield affected? My plan was to start them under fluoros and on the window sill, around the end of May, and have them outside just before the middle of June. Seeing as how I'm using auto-flowers, I can work them for 20-4 for their first few weeks.

Before I invest money I want to know that growing them outdoors is even advisable.

Finally, if anyone HAS grown them outdoors, do you have a strain to recommend? I was thinking of going with...
THIS ONE...
THIS ONE...
THIS ONE... or
THIS ONE.

Hopefully I can get some positive feedback from y'all, and I can pick one of those, and let Speedy do his thing!:bigjoint:

Thanx, and +rep 2 any who help!

Hey bro , its always nice to see another person whos interested in growing autos :D.

well i can tell you this i have done a shitload of researching and found out that the ones you picked and also Easy Ryder are the best recommended autos out there. And yea if you were wondering it is possible to plant these babies outside. I got some Diesel Ryder and Easy Ryder seeds and hope we both do good!

well you see lemon skunk is known for being potent (strong) but not so good yielder.

and automatic hindu kush i think its the oppisite as lemon, its alright yield but not so potent ,if not then i forgot sorry!

and Diesel ryder is Potent/fruity smoke ...this has got to be one of the most tastiest strains in autos! but again not so good yielder , im guessing around a quarter ounce or more for this plant.

and Easy Ryder (Lowryder x Ak-47) is supossed to be a good yielder and alright potentcy .

and Also auto Ak is supossed to be the best yielder for autos (not counting iranian short season because i think its a rumor ,someone said they got like 3 ounces off each plant , plus you can only get this strain at specific sites)

Phew! sorry if i made you read alot homie but i love autos , this will be my first outdoor grow and ...i felt like i had to share my knowledge ! and spread the joy on autoflowering strains :P Peace

I grew an Easyryder late in the season last year - outdoors on my balcony. Recently I just planted 2 more. They do just fine outdoors. The bottom link in my signature shows the balcony grow (the easyryder is more towards the end of that journal). The top link is my current outdoor Easyryder grow. Best of luck to you!

SHORT Ryder? Not sure I've heard of it. I've heard good things about Diesel Ryder...

And you, brother. Thanx 4 the help! +rep

Thanx 4 all the responses! I'm definitely getting me some Diesel Ryder.

For those looking at this thread for advice on strains yourself, THIS ONE seems like the one to go with.

Start by reading this thread:

Pros and cons to growing both indoor and outdoor. I only grow outdoor because it's convenient and easy.

I only grow feminized auto's - so, yes
ok im gonna read that ish right now bro thanks. and just curious. how much do you yield on average from your outdoor feminized autoflowers? im lookin for higher yield than potency because im sure the potency of any homegrown will far surpass that of what ive been smoking :joint:

Autoflowering strains are unstable for the most part, you might get a 6 incher and a 26 incher in the same pack of autos, depending on strain, they might not ever get that tall. So to give you an average yield is not possible. It depends on how much direct sunlight it gets, the strain, and what its fed. A little luck is always good too, unfortunately that hasnt been bottled yet. You can get a gram up to 3 ounces. Go with something like Big Devil or Easy Ryder, Auto AK is supposed to be a great yielder, I have seen 2 ounces plus off of each of these strains, when grown in proper conditions. Just like any other plant, it all comes down to the growers knowledge and the environment the plants are in. They can be quite potent, as long as they are fed properly. Mostly you will get more indica like traits with them, a low thc content with a higher cbd and cbn. They generally dont have a sativa buzz, which would require a higher thc content. Big Devil is supposed to be 18%thc cbd 1.2 % cbn0.3%, so not bad at all potency wise if that is accurate.

From my experience with auto's, which is pretty much all of them going, lowlife and lowryder def have the best genetics, if you can grow indoors do it, the yield is much greater obviously because of the amount of light you subject them to! I find that outside (atleast where i am in spain) there just isnt enough light for them to flourish as good as say 18 or 20 hours of light inside, dont get me wrong, the smoke is very strong and tasty from most varietes but in door growing allows just that little bit more potential with them! if your growing out doors with auto's id go with a non dwarf auto flower such as ones from delicious seeds, sensi, nirvana, etc!

Im also planning on using some autos this summer for outdoor.
I am going with the highest yielding plants that I can find so I chose to get:
Lowryder - Easy Ryder
Samsara Seeds - Thunder Bloody Mary
Short Stuff - ONYX
Sweet Seeds - Big Devil

These seeds can be bought at attitude or dope-seeds

I started a Samsara seeds Thunder Bloody Mary outside. I germinated the seed, then planted in 3 gallon pot (I live in New York). I have it outside it my most sunny area of the yard. I'm also very new to growing, so this is a starter for me. I was very excited once I saw it pop up. It is now about 1 1/2" high, with about 10 leaves. It seems to get bigger everyday. I have done nothing except feed it with DutchMaster once a week. It's been raining here, so it's been getting natural water. Not sure if I'm doing it correctly, but so far so good. So if anyone has any tips I would love to hear them also. :-)
