Auto VS Reg seeds??

The short and sweet:

Auto

PROS

- Flowering happens automatically. i.e. light schedules must not be changed to induce flowering

CONS

- Less stable genetics; arguably less robust final end product

Reg

PROS

- Most stable genetics, typically more robust yields and typically better potency

CONS

- Photoperiod, so light schedules must be changed to induce flowering

I'm sure there's a lot more information. I'm just a noob myself who's starting with autos.

Autos just don't do it for me. I liked the different cannabinoid profile but photoperiod weed is just better.

ive never grown autos don't see much point in it, if you are looking for small with light yield you could always just 12/12 from clone or seed, like I said never grown one don't see the point. I guess if you got a freebie I wouldn't pay for them though

...regular seeds put the grower in control so that when you find that special girl you can clone her far into the future, i've got several in my collection i've had for years.

...auto's on the other hand put the seedbanks in control because you can't clone them so one seed, one plant, ...you want more plants you need more seeds, ...and every seed is to some extent a mystery so you won't know, with certainty, whether or not your efforts are wasted on a mediocre plant until after harvest.

...if you live in the far north or far south, so you have a short growing season, then auto's may have a place in your garden but if you live in the temperate zone or you grow indoors then don't waste your time, pop regular beans instead so if you find a special plant it can become a 'keeper'.

I have made thousands of auto fem seeds and the ones that are not crosses are very stable and very predictable. The crosses do not vary much.

How much have you guys typically yielded off a auto?
1-6 ounces. It depends on what you grow and how you grow it, like with regular weed.

These breeders are wasting time and efforts on this crap. Just learn how to clone. Sorry for being so blunt. Speaking of blunt...

why clone when you can grow from seed in basically the same time frame and you dont have to keep seeds alive
6 bucks in silver some distilled water and youll never have to clone again
if you pop a auto and a photo at the same time the photo plays hell keepin up

you can have a perpetual grow with just 1 box/tent
just pop another bean and throw it in the box

personally i like the way most of the auto's smoke i really enjoy the higher cbd content

...feminizing beans is an advanced technique not suited to everyone and ANY grower can clone with a little effort.

that's not to say anyone can't learn to feminize beans but just that cloning is an essential skill for ALL growers, including those who feminize their own beans.

...personally, when i do a femmed run i don't use my moms, i use clones FROM my moms so if i couldn't clone, i'd be in trouble.

but there is no point in cloning a auto
so the cloning argument isnt really relevant
cs 1 time a day for a week - 2 weeks
not rocket science sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt
if i could figure it out anyone should be able to grasp the concept

...i wouldn't pop an auto in my garden if you paid me. ...as i said earlier, if you live in an area with an extremely short grow period then maybe there is a place for auto's in your garden, for everyone else they are the herpes of the canna world, ...consider that the auto gene comes from crossing marijuana with hemp, ...me i'll stick to straight marijuana.

this is how i feel about auto's.. the auto gene comes from ruderalis, which is basically russian ditch weed with lil to no thc content.. so anything crossed to the ruderalis is always going to have those crap half genetics in them imo.. why grow something when you know half of it's parents are ditch weed ?? i wouldn't, and don't..

yes ruderalis in the wild has a lower THC but has really high CBD levels
AKA painkiller meds
the lower amount of thc is complemented by the cbd so its still a full on effect
