Auto VS Reg seeds??

I just could never warrant buying auto beans. After spending money on a six pack of vertigo autos from paradise.... two where about a zip and four where runts truly disappointed. They where FEMS though. If I get an auto it was a freebie.

Even tried again with another pack from freedom of seeds. It was worst at least paradise had resin. Freedoms gear was blah and it had jack herer in it. I'm not writing em off though. If gotten freebie autos that did good outdoor with good potency. Dinafem seems consistent with their autos. But I still find it hard to buy em.

I'm saving any auto beans I get doing em outdoor. Then feming the best lady for beans of multiple crosses. They are handy for those early bumper harvest I admit that. Outdoors you could probably get away with about two harvest a year. Maybe three at best season dependent.

But a photoperiod lady will always take priority in my garden. In the end like a few have said it strain dependent. Wish y'all good circumstances and favorable conditions for your smoking quest.bongsmilie

Last year and the year before I put about 6 plants out of Paradise Pandora in early May. I've only done a few auto strains, but Pandora was by far the best. I highly recommend it. I like to start them inside for about 15-20 days until they show sex, then transplant them in bigger buckets in the woods. Of the dozen or so Pandora, I saw two phenos. Pulled about 1.5-2 oz each from the "big" pheno, which isn't bad for an auto outdoors. Under better conditions I could see it doing even better. Somewhat mild sweet and fruity smell/taste and good potency. The "short" pheno doesn't yield nearly as much, but has a little bit stronger odor. Their Automaria II, however, was complete crap. I still have a few of the beans left and don't plan on running them any time soon.

Autos would be better and possibly pass up photos one day...if breeders weren't so damn lazy. Many people claim to take the best males and females and still get runts! I can't believe it til i try it. I like the idea of a shorter sativa bloom.

You can get a lot of yield off of autoflowering strains! I bought some purple kush genetics and they produced huge voluptuous purple nugs with more hairs than on the floor of a barber shop!

I just pulled around 60 grams dried and cured from a DinaFem a White Widow using a BlackStar 270 Chrome. I'm a personal stash guy so I'm happy with it.

well im hoping to gain some success with my bubblicious from nirvana im not having good experience so far, out of 5 seeds only three popped theyve been up bout a week not a bit stretchy/light green. after another 2 weeks im going to transfer them to 3 liter bottles and have them under 20-4 light cycle. not expecting too much, but i do like that one idea of planting an auto every two weeks in that one room...if i try autos again it'll be purple diesel and pineapple express

Thats amazing!!! I've had shit luck with their reg BB let alone an auto. 400g from one auto is i think an exceptional almost mythical harvest!

I strongly suggest feminized Dutch passion auto blueberry. I bought one bean....I calculate I spent maybe $20 for it when you calculate shipping (single seed company). Anyway it's was worth it I just planted it straight into some foxfarm ocean forest with 30 percent perlite in a solo cup. I used normal 5000k CFL's and vegged it for 33 or so days until it started to flower. I also transplanted it several times until I got up to a 5 gallon pot. They say not to transplant autos allot, but I find a gentle transplant technique doesn't bother it.

Is it better to grow a auto or a regular seed for first time growers?

My first grow was a photoperiod Nirvana bubblicious. It was a vigorous plant with some nice sticky buds. When I tried auto I liked the fact that I didn't have to worry about a total 12 hour dark period the most. I could feel free to tend my plants and garden at all hours. I had the light schedule on 20/4 from seed to harvest. Either way plan on 4 months of time invested. Biggest lesson to learn is patience either way.

they are very hearty agreed
but over watering or feeding in the first few weeks is the down fall of most first time auto growers

Agreed my biggest rules for the MONSTER blueberry plant I ended up with are as follows.... from day one:

1. Do not let it get root bound. Steadily graduate the plant (in same soil mix ffof and perlite) up to a 5 gallon pot.

2. Do not over water. A good soaking followed by at least 2-3 solid days to dry completely out.

3. No nutrients for full begging period, at least 30 days. Start at 1/4 strength and gradually work up to 3/4 or fill.

4. Do not skimp on light! I started with one 23 watt cfl when it sprouted, had maybe 3 more of those added by week 2. Had 200 actual watts of cfl on it by week 3. Then 2 Kessill H350 Magentas on it through flower (about 700 watt HID equivalent).

Speaking from experience I grew both Autos and Photos and I like them both.

There are times where I want to grow autos only because of the ease and time limits.

There are times where I want a huge yield or able a specific strain that is just better as a photo.

I have grown a auto that netted me nearly 6 Ozs and it was my FIRST auto grow (That's how easy they grow)

I have grown a photo that netted less than my auto.

Everything depends on strain, genetics, how you grow, etc.

I will continue to grow both because I can, but if I lived in a legal state I would dedicate an entire room or two to straight photos.
