Auto Widow struggling

Hi everybody,
I am growing two autoflower seedlings on my balcony in sunny Mexico in soil and very little organic fertilizer. Two plants in identical conditions started at the same time but one is noticeably outgrowing the other. Why does the White Widow struggle and the Deimos thrive? Here are some photos after two weeks since popping, obviously the smaller plant is the Widow.

That soil is too compact. This will give you trouble soon enough, as it's also probably too acidic for cannabis.

Get a good substrate, with humus, perlite and such, and transplant them.

As far as why one thrives while the other one struggles, thats just the nature of strains, they react different to different situations

1. They are 2 different strains .... different strains run differently.

2. Soil .looks compacted and no perlite for drainage. Compacted soil suffocates roots.

3. Stressing Autos , especially in the beginning, will lead to poor performance. Autos hate stress , from any reason , overfeeding , transplanting. ( although you can carefully ) , overwatering and especially anything that interferes with its ONLY short stage to get a ROOTBALL going. A good peat based bagged mix would have been better.

Have now transplanted into a very light bag mix. I'm confident they will pull through but the transplant seems to have shocked them as the bottom leaves are yellowing slightly. But I will try and keep that mix slightly damp and give it time. How much sun should I give them during the recovery from transplant shock? Sun is one thing I have in abundance. Thanks for the help regarding the foibles of autos

Yes the soil was too compact. I have since transplanted to some potting mix and will pray for survival. I doubt excess acidity was the problem where I live it is very limey and i was using local soil. Maybe exceed humidity as that dense soil was staying wet for bloody ages

Glad you were able to move them. Hope she gets better soon
