is there any particular fertilizer thats better than others, like what is a good brand to use? i am going to use the fox farms ocean forest for the soil
If fox farms brand is available to you and you can afford it, go with that. Personally I cannot get it without buying on the internet, and Im a cheap ass so I stick with Scultz 10-15-10 from walmart haha! Using nothing but that and a bit of bone meal mixed in with my soil has given me great results so far.

I even did a run of 2 Diesel Ryders with ZERO nutes the entire run, nothing but tap water and got about 12-13g dry off each in 2L soda bottles under a 150w HPS.

Im sure FF nutes will do wonders though, or at least they better for the price!

hope the one you said got stunted gets better
Thanks, haven't given up on her. Might swing by the Hydro shop tomorrow and see if they have anything they can recommend to help her out. I've been using a Silicon solution with every feeding (Pro-tekt by Dyna Gro) which helps to protect against drought, heat, and cold, and to strengthen stems among other things. Was probably the only thing that saved her.

i was thinking either the lowlife hindu kush or the lowlife ak47xblueberry.... any ideas on anything else that would be good for a first timer that is reasonable?
The Easy Ryders are wildly popular with first time growers for a variety of reasons. Short harvest time, easy to grow, good yield, short and not too bushy, able to be grown outdoors through November if desired, and they're pretty resistant to extreme weather. It's my first grow and I'm growing 5 of them currently, and they're all doing extremely well. I've also got an Auto Onyx going as well, but it was exposed to high temps last weekend for about 48 hours and I'm not sure what's going to happen with it now. I HIGHLY recommend the Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil, and I don't think you'll find anybody that has anything bad to say about it. It'll keep you covered for the first 3-4 weeks without having to add any nutes at all.

wht company is the big devil and which online seed company is good thts reasonably safe? i been peepin things out at the attitude seed bank that look pretty good and from what i have heard its reliable and safe
Go with Attitude, you absolutely can't go wrong. It's not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for (or in some cases you DON'T get what you pay for if you order from some other places and they get seized by customs). Nirvana is another one of the better ones, but imo it's Attitude all the way. Seen a lot of comments around here from people who's Nirvana Auto seeds didn't flower on their own and had to be switched to 12/12 after waiting 1-3 weeks longer than you should have to. Every one of the Attitude seeds I've received has germinated and sprouted, not to mention they arrived without being seized. I suggest spending the extra money for a stealth shipping option, but that's your prerogative.

whats the best way to start the seeding? i was told that putting in moist paper towel first and then when it sprouts transplant it into the soil
Everything you need to know about germinating you can find --> HERE

I use this method and it works perfectly. Personally I planted all of mine into their final pots direct from seed, I didn't use cups. If space isn't an issue I recommend going this route to avoid the possibility of something going wrong while transplanting later.

You don't use ANYTHING else, just the FFOF. It has everything you need in it to grow from seedling to harvest. Nutes can be added for flowering if you desire, but even that isn't necessary, it just helps to promote larger buds. Of course there are a million things out there you CAN add, to promote this or that, if you have unlimited cash and really know what you're doing, but with Autos I think less is more, particularly for a first grow. Definitely don't need to add anything for Veg with FFOF while growing Autos. Personally I decided to use an enzyme called Grozyme, and a Silicon additive called Pro-Tekt, which strengthens stems and helps to protect from extreme conditions among other things. Heat has been a problem for me so that's one of the reasons I opted to use this, and it didn't cost much. The Grozyme is pretty expensive though, and isn't absolutely necessary.

I put them in damp paper towel in 2 kitchen plates, leave for 36-48hours (let them breath a couple off times) until you see 1cm root. Have done like this 3 times with good result. First time 2 seeds and 2 sprung. 2nd time 10AF seeds all sprung, 3time 20AF seeds 19 sprung:)
This was joint doc Disel ryder af fem & Lowryder 2 af fem, from a dealer in Denmark.

Um, haven't read the next page to see responses yet, and I haven't read the description for that strain, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that's per square meter, using the Sea Of Green growing method, that's not the yield from a single plant. Figure that's for perhaps 12 to 16 plants, so divide that by 12 to 16 and you've got maybe 20-25 grams give or take under perfect conditions. Just an educated guess.

Nice reading enonumus, look like you know a bit about this shit:) im love to read about weed!!
Hey I'm a newbie too (well at least at growing lol, not at consumption for sure), only been growing a month. But like many of us I spent a good month reading everything and anything I could find to get prepared for my first grow. I don't have a vast wealth of hands on growing experience, but I'm happy to at least pass on what I have learned. Thanks tho!

I wish we had some more products in Norway, in Oslo its only 3 shops that sels soil and they only have Biowiz products:( And the scandinavian intenettshops dont sell or send soil, to much expens. Dont feel like making my own soil just yet, this is only my 3rd time grow so have more than enoff to keep up with.

20/4 seems to be the preferred schedule for most autos, and that's what was on the packaging for my Easy Ryder seeds. Definitely can't go wrong with that, it's only a question of what's most efficient and isn't just a waste of electricity. They can be grown under 24/0 even, but I suspect they don't yield anything greater than 20/4, or it reaches the point of diminishing returns. Definitely don't go with 12/12 or anything under 18/6.
