Towards the end of a plants life cycle (ie near harvest) it is common for some of the lower leaves to turn yellow and die off.I am new so I may be wrong but I am in the final flush on an auto speed devil and I seen this problem with mine at first I thought nitrogen def. but then after reading a LOT more I thought for sure mag. def. so epsom salt and foliar feeding I went...my leaves seemed to burn that way...too much mag. maybe? I am pretty sure my original problem was nute burn/ph issues...plant seems to be doing well now...lots of bud points....I am growing all autos right now and I am not sure of the strains...I have the short stuff mix pack so I should get so real nice goodies!
In my experience, I find cal-mag deficiency to be very common in both autos and non-autos in mid to late flowering. All that biomass the plant is packing on during that time really drains your grow medium of nutrients. Epsom salt is a terrible treatment and has VERY limited valid uses. Pick up a bottle of Botanicare Cal-Mag. Works wonders.
