Autoflower Thread & Resource Guide

Just bc autos can flower under 24/7 doesn't mean they are utilizing all of the light, if this was the case dark reactions (which make sugars for bud/flower/ fruit production ) would happen simultaneously. Which from my studies doesn't happen. The 12 hours of dark allows the plant to utilize the products from the light reactions, and this was proven when I put them on 12/12

I see what you're saying, and it seems logical that's for certain. Any idea on whether they will mature quicker under 12/12?

Less yield - but shorter or longer life? Will they mature more quickly if I reduce the light hours? How much yield will it cost me?

I would be careful switching to 12/12, true the auto's that weren't flowering responded greatly to the switch, this is because the ruderallis gene is obviously recessive in those pheno's, the photoperiod gene's would be dominant hence the traditional behaviour when switching cycles, the phenotypes displaying the traditional autoflowering trait have the dominant ruderallis gene and should be treated as such, i've found rather than have a regular dark period, once a week i take the girls out of the veg cabinet for 6 hours of darkness, this works with my hormone application but i've noticed the most consistent growth while practicing this with no hermies, this could be the spray but whatever it is, my cola's are swelling impressively beyond my expectations for the yield for these babies. I wouldn't switch any auto to 12/12 unless it was to force flowering when it has failed to auto

Guys I am back on the auto trail !!! In your opinion what is the best yielder and strongest smoke, in past I have had blueberry lowlife, afghan kush paradise seeds.
I currently have pineapple express barneys, bio diesel mass and the afghan kush again. The kush was a strong smoke before and grows well, however I don't see a large amount on the P.E and B.D.M they were all flowering 1st july I know I still got a few weeks but trice getting cloudy and brown hairs starting ?

I am in door temps right, two 600w well vented, in soil feeding complete bio bizz range. I ain't a newb but by no means a pro.

Any thoughts.

Really appreciate you taking the time to post that. Cheers.

What would be your opinion on switching to 16/8 from 18/6 - I can only let them go 10.5 weeks and no longer due to having a holiday booked and am considering ways to speed up the maturing process? (and don't mind loosing a little bit of yield if it will mean that what ive got is better quality)

For those that have been following along this is the last day of light for the White Sharks (Not a Auto). They will go into darkness until Saturday morning. I also cleaned them up a bit today to get some good light below. I took one more seed from her (White Shark #2 female x Snowryder #3 male), it was nice and shiny with beautiful dark tiger striping.

I'll take photo's of the Snowryders later. Tomorrow will be their last day of water. Until then here are the last shots before I get ready to harvest.

I don't think dropping the light hours will speed up the maturing process at all, auto's have a pre determined life span, only thing i could think of aside from using a nasty pgr would be to give them at least 24 hours of darkness before you harvest to try and ripen them up a bit, if you've got the indica dom, comparing to mine which hit 10.5 weeks today, you should be ok looking at mine, more couch stone but i think mine has much more weight to put on in the next week or two but your harvest should still be good. Hey mantizm, did your indica pheno fatten up much in the last two weeks? Mine seems to be swelling but it could just be my optimism

And another quick one mantizm, should i start flushing now at almost 11 weeks? In coco at about 1000ppm dutch master gold and rock resinator at 1ml per litre, hairs are looking about 20% orange, don't have a loupe atm so i'm going by them lol main cola seems to be taking longest

I might throw them in dark for 12hrs. or just wake up and harvest them in the morning in a half week.

Does anyone know what the genetics are on Easyriders? I hear a lot about lowryder, lowryder 2, diesel ryder, and ak47 but not much about easyriders. Is it ak47 x lowryder2? I was trying to search for it here but I've been having a hard time. Plus, in general, information on the internet is redundant and scarce. I'm just trying to figure out how it compares to other autos on points like potency, height, odor (low, medium, high), and et cetera. I have 5 of them going and I'd just like to know "what to expect while expecting." Thanks.
