autoflowering strains

One question,
If your girls are showing pre-flowers after a month, why would they keep budding while your on 18/6 light cycle? is that just what they do? Also, would there be any potential hazards by letting them veg for longer? would this be considered an autoflowering strain?
thanks

There are no seperate cycles for autoflowers that's why they are auto's-- 18/6 the whole way. They are own their own biological schedule regardless of light.

12/12 would just give you next to no yield.

if you want to increase yield, top NOW and LST while adding supplemental CFL's for lower branches and side lighting

no cfls are needes if you are using an hps over 200w

Currently rocking a 430w hps and a 250w mh.. I am about to switch to 12/12 as they have been vegging for almost 2 months already. they arent very tall but very bushy, some have been topped, all have had lst... will switching to 12/12 harm autoflowers in any way?

it wont harm them but switching to 12/12 is pointless since the plant grows independent of light cycle

the type of marijuana that gives the autoflower trait is from russia its called ruderalis- that plant is used to short seasons hence the autoflower trait. No time for veg up there- So 18/6 is the average light cycle there that the plant is used to growing . All autoflowers are used to this cycle and have the ruderalis Autoflower Gene in them.

12/12 is too little light for it in ist's short lifecycle.

if they have been vegging for 8 weeks they should throw out flowers in the next three-if not i doubt you have an autoflower

WOS sent me fem afghan kush ryders that were neither female or autoflowers.
it does happen

Rad,
well due to the fact that those are not the only strain ive got at the moment, they are gonna have to make due on a 12/12... it has been 8 weeks and I weeded out all the males from that strain about 4 weeks ago. I still have 5 others that are showing no sign of sex yet... All is of bagseed and the sexed strain had a lot of genetic problems. The first sets of leaves were really fat, some branches have three budsites instead of two, and the nug wasnt all that great but it was full of seeds, so I figure it would be much better as sensi.... i didnt think much about them being all weird at first.. I guess I just hope they dont Hermi at this point it would be a catastrophe!
