Autoflowers under CFL

I currently have a number of bag seeds, clones going and a Fruitylicous which is definately feminized, but I am not sure if its an auto or not. Anyway, these plant seeds are still germinating so it's hard to tell what I will end up with, but my question is specifically about using autos under CFL versus sexing your plants and flowing under 12/12. Since we are all growing indoors and presumably with limited clearance, I am thinking I should steer clear of the autoflowers as I may not be able to control it's height. Maybe top/fim them at about 1.5' then flowering to a full 3'. Not sure I can pull that off with an autoflower.

Has anyone tried doing a tray of clones and flowering them right away, say at 6" or something?
Sort of a single bud per plant harvest, lots of small plants versus a few larger ones.

Sort of, but I am not suggesting the constant rotation of a SOG (i.e. endless supply) as my space is limited so I don't have multiple stations. Anyway, that was tangential to my original query, but thanks for the input.
