Autopilot 8 light controller

Sorry for my ignorance but could someone tell me what this does exactly. Running a room with a trolmaster and the autopilot. What benefit do I get from using the autopilot instead if just plugging lights in to a regular outlet.
Thanks

I was also curious about this.

It's 60 amps for 8 lights?
What's with the 120v trigger?
What's the draw on the trigger?

Can't you just plug the lights into regular outlets and control them with something like s TrolMaster?

What is the benefit of it as opposed to just hooking in to a regular outlet?
For one, a regular outlet can't handle anything close to those amps. It's also, IMO, a throwback to HID lighting and high wattage use. It seems to me, to be something that is out of date. It's basically just a large single switch.

So basically instead of me breaking up 8 lights into 3 or 4 circuit breakers I could just plug into this and use 1 breaker????

No, you need to feed it with a LARGE line... at least 80 amp sized wire and breaker, some people barely have that for the whole house. It's for warehouse people.
