I started with 6 Autopots the third week of March, 2011. I'm pretty happy with the results but I will pass along a few things I'll do next grow.

1. Instead of using a 30/70 mix of coco coir and perlite I'll add in some hydroton for added stability for the root systems. When my plants got top heavy they tended to lean. I had one fall over and I think damaged the root system. It's still alive and flowers are growing but not the plant it could be.

2. In the nutrient container, I added a air pump and a couple of airstones. I had some sort of anaerobic slime start up which was resolved by giving some O2 to the solution.

3. The kit will come with some plastic tubing similar to rain drip systems. I replaced that with some silicone air line from the pet store. Much easier to work with.

Even though this is an automatic watering system, the fill valves can get sticky and may not open in time. Just keep and eye on things, your plants will tell you if something is amiss.

Each system presents its challenges and the Autopot is no exception, but they fit where they need to go and did the job for me. I expect to harvest around middle of June. good lucks!
