Autos and Germination

I got 5 Northern lights Fems and 5 Short Riders Fems from Nirvana. I've only ever germed Regs before. I read that Autos don't like to be transplanted, so can I start out in Solo cups, or should I plant directly into 3 gals?

i started mine in solo cups with light warrior, up potted to 3gallon in 14 days. yield was 1.5-2oz per plant under 400w

straight to 3 gallon. Don't start em in solo cups. Use a 20/4 light schedule

you can start them in a bottomless party cup or one split in half / up and down ways then put back in another cup
i always just plant directly in final
1/4" deep and mist for 3-4 days

You both use 20/4? Medical Grade, Did you use HPS, MH, or, both? In your opinion, think I could get 1.5oz per plant from 5 plants with a 4' 6 bulb T5HO @ 324w and 30k lumes?

I used 20/4 with a hps bulb from start to finish. I have never flowered under a T5HO but I hear good things. You are basically shooting for .6 grams per watt with those numbers. which is respectable and well with in average expected yields of .5 being avg, and 1 gram per watt being high yield.

If you can...go straight to large container or don't keep 'em in a party cup like you would a reg, I grew my first Auto AK freebie and I know the roots didn't grow like all my fems...I fucked up and got a low yield 'cause I left them in the party cup too long. There are pics in my journal.
Lastly...after reading posts on auto's for my last winter grow the overwhelming rule is to start it in "flowering" size pot like your 3 gal.
