Autos in aeroponics (feed recomendations)

Looking to start growing autos in a 120 site system aeroponics using clay pebbles i will only be growing 60. I'll be Using flora series nutes. 4 1000 watt spyder farmer leds that cover a 5x5 section each light. Looking for a bases on ppm for feed. Where to start. I'll be monitoring the plants. But I want to start with a good number to build off of. Im making the switch from photos in Rockwool to this. So any advice helps. Thank you.

Growing 60 autos in a system like that sounds like an expensive nightmare. They are all going to grow different sizes and at different rates, and need different feeds, and EACH ONE WILL START FLOWERING WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT. Autos are also the most expensive way to grow since you have to leave the lights on 18-24 hours a day. That adds up significantly in electric cost at the end with no added yield to make up for it.

An aero system like that would be much better suited to running low veg time clones. That will allow them to all grow at a similar rate leading to a similar size and being harvested at the same time.

DLI is constant comparing different photoperiods. DLI is also proportional to yield. Electricity cost will be the same and fixture cost will be a bit lower since lower intensities are offset by longer photoperiod.


But I follow your sentiment. Combining high tech aeroponics with something as inconsistent as autos seems frivolous. Keep it simple and keep costs down in a commercial setting.

Of all the ways to grow aero is my least favorite. It's a challenge with a low ammount of plants, and the worst of all the grow styles when it comes to things like the power going out.

I would think a sog style grow would be much better for this with photo clones. Either way I wish u luck and please share the progress!

That's just not true, every plant has different DLI requirements, photos, autos, and none cannabis plants too.

Autos regularly don't yield anywhere near what photos do even with more hours of daylight. So not proportional across the board just if you are comparing one single plant.

Most people don't reduce their lighting to run autos and control DLI, they just turn the lights on. If you run your lights for 18-24 hours a day it uses more electricity then 12hrs, it's pretty simple.

Autos have no place in any kind of commercial setting or indoor growing IMO. Nothing about them in practical for anything other than outdoors in places with weird climates.

Agreed, the only real niche for autoflowers is outdoor grows in northern climates where you can get a harvest before the weather turns bad.
Other than that, photos are a better choice.
I have to run a veg set up so I add 2 autos to it since light schedule doesn't matter. Those 2 autos I run cuz I have the lights on already pay all the bills and let the rest be profit

You CAN clone autos btw. Via tissue culture micro propagation.

Come to think of it, I could actually see that working out well if you could pull it off. The clones will stay small and flower right away as they acclimate, which I can only imagine is perfect for an LP aero SOG setup. Fill all 120 sites with the micro clones, and have a sheet of buds in no time! ;)

You could only do that once per seed batch, you can't continually clone autos and maintain the lines long-term.

You also wouldn't be able to grow up a mother and then cut it into clones, so you would be blindly cloning random plants with no idea how they were going to turn out in the end. Then after you ran them they would be gone and you would have to start over.
