Average flowering time

i am just wondering what the average flowering time is? my plants have been under 12/12 for about 45 days, they look really good but look like they still have some time to go.

just wondering what you begin to look for when the plants are done and ready for harvesting and about how long it normally takes to get to the point of pulling the plant

are your hairs going orange yet ? depending on what type of high u want you can pull them earlyer or later. is your plant indica or sativa ? indicas are ready roughly after about 8 weeks but if your growing a "FAT leave" Sativa your looking at about 12 -14 weeks sometimes more

go by the trichomes. they are the easiest and best way, if they are mostly clear definetley dont cut, if they are mostly milky and you want a lighter sort of head high chop then, if you want a strong couchlock buzz harvest when they all turn amber. for an inbetween high harvest it 50/50 or whatever ratio you want.

^Agreed, that's the only way to know for sure. Also, seedbanks that advertise strains as "8-10 weeks" throw that "8" in there to atttract buyers, IMO. It almost always takes close to 10 weeks for those, unless you cheat and harvest early. I'm not saying that 8 weeks isn't possible, but, that's usually only achieved in a best case scenario, a flawless grow with a professional setup.

ok, all the hairs, or ambers are white still, i think they may be flowering slow or something, because i was told they still have about another 6 weeks to go, so total my flowering time is about 12 weeks, does that seem like too long?

not really, you say youve had them under 12/12 45 days, how long since they started flowering?

yea something like that, they are doing good one looks a little slower than the other one. some hairs are begining to turn an amber red coloer, but the majority of them of still white, i am thinking they got about another month to month and a half left, is there a such thing as pulling too late?

Its possible, i would not be concerned with how old or how long its been flowering or letting it go to long, what matters are the trichomes, if you watch and check them like your supposed to i cannot see you harvesting too late or too early. the trichomes will let you know.

I've got 2 plants that are really close to harvest. I checked them with a magnifying scope for the first time yesterday and learned that they are not quites ready yet. I think I messed up again though because I saw that most trichs were clear to cloudy so I figured another couple weeks and fed nutes. This morning I'm looking again and I see more amber than yesterday so I think they are closer to a week for one and maybe a few days for the other. I don't want to flush them right after feeding them but think I maybe should have given plain water last night. I've got some pics but when I upload them it shrinks them and you can't really tell.

by amber you mean the white hair looking things growing from the flower right? and i am not too go or sure how to check the buds to see if they done, but by looking at them right now i still got some weeks left

They're talking about the trichomes. The little resin glands that make our bud look frosty. You need a 30x maginfying device to look at them. I got mine online when I ordered some other stuff and it cost me like $5. Radio shack has one for like $12.

If you dont have one of those then you can tell pretty good when its ready by watching the hairs. They turn brown/red when they die off. You want most or all of the hairs to turn color and start receeding back in to the seed pods.

For a first time grower i strongly suggest you get the microscope or something to check the trichs, like he said they are cheap and they make it easy to tell when is the optimal time to harvest them. no guesswork involved. Amazon.com and radioshack.com both have them, I paid 7 for mine i think, its 60x-100x though, not 30x, which makes it even easier to see, i also love the way the trichomes and bud look under 100x, checking the plants trichomes is something i really like doing ever since i upgraded from a weaker scope, so i'd go for the 60-100x if i were you.

when i hear people saying "day 1 of flowering", are they talking about when they switch their lights or when there are actually showing flowers? i've always used a scope to tell, but i have always been curious which is right. i think it would be when there's actually flowers but i could be wrong on the lingo.
