avoiding rookie mistakes

I've been watching my trichomes for a little while now and just don't wanna screw up now. I just lost a 10' tall plant to caterpillars and am trying to avoid the same on this one. I'm definitely at milky with some amber and have started flushing in hopes of getting her down. It's a sour kush going on 110 days total grow time. Thanks guys, your the best

I'd say if your flushing now once your done "chop"

They are mostly cloudy with some amber that's when I harvest once your done flushing she will be ready in my opinion

Fucking caterpillars dude! Oh man.. On my first serious grow.. I definitely did not take them serious enough. did they actually kill your plant, or did you just write it off due to the infestation?

Not to take away from your point man.. Sorry if I'm off base. Can't really comment on the maturity though.. That's something I'm still trying to nail down myself.

Killed one of my plants because I didn't catch them in time. Just chopped another to save what I can, doesn't seem to bad. Probably save most of it. The third is untouched and coming down this weekend. You bust your balls all summer stroking these bitches and catering to their every need and a fucking caterpillars get me. Sucks. Here's the untouched one, THANK GOD!

you are in the ground, I wouldn't bother with "flushing' at all.
just give her water.
Caterpillars are the worst... they can decimate an outdoor plant so fast, and you can't see the damage until it dries..
Fuckers...
especially if they are little moth caterpillars... the bigger butterfly ones are easier to spot.

I'm actually in containers outside but they rotted through the drain holes I drilled. It is the gypsy moth caterpillars, the little fuckers. Doing what I can. I chopped it, trimmed it and I scour over the thing ever couple hours with a flashlight and tweezers. I'll fight for my sour kush damm it!

She's been chopped down. I trimmed her up and hung her. While hanging I went over every bud with a pair of tweezers and a flashlight picking off what I could find. Then I took a wooden dowel and tapped on the branch pretty good for a couple seconds to try and knock any loose ones off (I'd check the floor in between branches to see how many/if any came off. The buds have been snipped off the branches, cleaned up and scoured over again before going I put them into the jars. When I dump the buds out of the jars on to a brown paper bag I scour over them again. Knock on wood I haven't lost a bud yet. I've literally spent hours going over the buds. No one knows their buds like me!

One thing I noticed is that as the buds dried and started to tighten up, the caterpillars started bailing out little by little. So drying helps get rid of them to.

So sorry to hear that man... ouuuch.

But that pic I can tell is a close up of a sugar leaf, not a bud. check the top of the cola for cloudy/amber. I'd be willing to bet it's still pretty clear. Leaves are usually mostly amber by the time the buds are ready.

Mini snails had a pop at my first grow, I definitely saw a difference in size with the affected plant and the other two. Fan leaf eating bastards.
