back surgery

About 5 years ago I had the last disc in my back rupture. I had a fusion and 2 years after that I had a second fusion and at that time the Doc said at my age I won't need any more surgery on my back 18 months later I had the third fusion. That was March 2012. In Dec. 2012 I was told I needed another fusion. When I told him I don't want to do it now he said OK you will be back when it hurts enough. Well it hurts enough now so tomorrow I will see him again and set it up. Has anyone else had this one disc after an other? It has been less than a year with this one. I'm worried I think the law of avengers is going to catch up with me. This just doesn't seam right that the disc keep rupturing like this.

How much do you weigh? How old are you? Active or inactive? On any medications? Have you ever actually injured your back in some type of fall or accident? If so, what happened and how long ago? Any history of the same in your family?

never had back surgery but the discs in my spine that are suppose to be used as shock absorbers are no longer fluid filled the pain sucks..
MMJ makes me say MEH to it..

oddly I did have rotatory cuff surgery and shortly after that op I was told I have a tear in the other one.. refused to get that operated on.

I have had 3 back surgeries so far at 45, unfortunately I expect I will need more, never been right since needing the first one. Surgeons must see me coming, last year I had rotatory cuff, labrium and separated ac joint worked on. Seems like i need surgery over other year for something or another :(

I ve gone to the chiropractor for 55 years, I'm 2" shorter than I was when I was 19 but NEVER let them
operate. I had an uncle that went thru it and said he wished he'd never had the first operation.
I worked Steel contsruction all my life and know about back pain. Hope you luck..

Good morning all. Thank you all for you advice and support. I just got back from seeing the Doc. I have 2 choices I can let them go in and look and they would clean out scares and any bone spurs. If that doesn't do it I would go back for another fusion. He did say that it's not like playing craps. Having 1 or 10 surgery it doesn't tip your chances of something going wrong. He did say that this would be a fusion at L2 and that fewer people continue to have this problem but if I do have more problems then they will go from L1 to T10. That would be like up to the back of my neck. I'm going to use as little oxiecodon as I can and use more hash and see what I feel like in 2 weeks. I hope you all have a great day the sun is shining here. Thanks again

I fear going under the knife , my back was injured as well in a motorcycle accident at a young age .. Ruptured disks are hell , only suffered one myself and I chose to let it be and continue on .. Having Degenerative Disc Disease along with Neuropathy lead me to use marijuana for medical reasons .. I always liked it so it just made sense .. Now if I could only learn to not medicate before going to physical therapy lol
