WTF are you talking about, there is nothing there. no tree's no living plants no rain no nothing. its all dry rocks and sand. barren wasteland. theres a reason why people CANT live in the desert. 114 on a good day, you'd fry in an hour. shit theres goes all the winter fat canna.
I like places where the geology and weather are laid bare to behold. I am fairly tired of verdure, humidity, allergies ... cities. cn

you havent been to the appilicain, no sqeetos, lovely plants, lack of humidity. people only live in the desert if they have stuff trucked in. its a baren wasteland no one rightfully would choose if there wasn't a pipeline of semi's there to get them what they need. you CAN NOT live in a desert without modern technology. and if you do, it surviving on a thread of just seeing a drop of water.

How much does it cost to go by train/bus? If $700 to go one-way across the country is "way too expensive" then I would suggest this trip is a bad idea. Save up a few grand and do it on your own terms. you're not ready to venture around the country with no set plans or route if you have such limited funds
I have 5k for it already.

Gas was about 700 for a straight drive no out of the way to Big Sur.

I'd hate to have to worry about adding 6000 miles to my cars mileage and not suffer some kind of breakdown.

OH and I'm not gonna be alone my friend is coming with me. He just got back from Texas and he has hitch hiked from NY to Cali twice.

He wanted me to drive, but he is only gonna have money to go one way. I do plan on returning for harvest in the fall.

I'd rather keep my traveling expenses low by not driving.

If I wanted to get their fast and not see a lot I would fly.

Pussies.. I know a homeless guy who walked from Arizona to hike the Appalachian trail.

Then he walked back.

IMG_3137.jpgIf you ever make to Pa. near the Appalachian Trail this spot is righteous, only accsssible by horse, foot , or Mt. Bike, it took my friends and I five years to create it,although it s always evolving. Enjoy,Heaven on Earth.

you have to have a destination. you can't get the time back out of it. just walking the USA sleeping in abandoned buildings not having any food, any sense of direction, any idea of anything really sounds like an attempt to avoid a problem in your life that's only going to be there when you return. if your gunna walk the usa have an idea of something to do.

o then you didnt read my other comment i left about water parks, canoeing and hunting. i was speaking from a term of those people who will read this get stoned go out and actually have no clue what they set themselves up for. i see often in every town i go to. stupid little teens "im going on an adventure". i once stayed in a sqautter house, a kid's mother gave him this house and he totally fucked it up. everytime i tried to plant our food one dude would sabatoge it and destroy everything, washed all the clothes we would dumpster dive for and they would just end up trashed and dirty again. started putting all the supplies together to get a small concert going and had people fucking with the hole thing. nothing worse then a bunch of mall punks trying to act serious about what they say they believe.

i would take the train .......the bus sucks.......... on the train u get to see stuff u wont ever see from the road
good call, buses are cramped. trains you can walk around a couple of the cabins. you get sight lounges and the dinning deck isn't anything compared to the ones in europe.

I have looked up "appilicain" and found an orthopedic place in Tennessee. If by any chance you mean the Appalachians ... they're famously humid. And there are ways to hike the desert. it isn't all Death Valley, you know. cn

First, let me say good luck on your adventures this summer. Maybe before Big Sur you can hit Yosemite and the Sierras, beautiful places IMO.
