Not sure of the latin name..etc...but I'm fairly sure we called those a "May Apple" when I was a kid in the Midwest.

ah. the poisonous mandrake (aka may apple)? hilarious.
good thing i didn't try to smoke it.
i looked it up, May-apple, but the difference in mine is that the leaves aren't connected in the center.

thas so wierd, the other day i was at my spot and saw about 20 of those and was very puzzled, and really wanted to no wahat they were, well now i know, thannks
