Flowering typically takes at least 10 weeks of 12/12. Ive got a 3x3 and a 5x5 so my veg times are longer. That sounds close to my plan right now. 2 weeks seed/germ room, 2-4 veg and 8 flower.

All 3 Bad Dawg seeds i planted were boysAwesome! Let me know how they go. I was assuming they were reg seeds, so popped enough to cull males. The best 2 of each will be indoor and the other females will be outdoor.
So through a series of unfortunate events, I'm left with 2. They grew really low and slow at first. Still not 100% on sexAll 3 Bad Dawg seeds i planted were boysbut the motor city fighter smelled amazing (especially for a male just starting to push out sacks) i will be trying that one again for sure.
Just curious why you’d go 12/12 from seed when plant doesn’t sexually mature for about 3 weeks? You’re loosing out on 3 weeks, of 6 hours a day extra daylight, doing this (126 hours of veg Total missed)! You should veg for 3 weeks and flip. It won’t bud any quicker going 12/12 from seed cause of the sexual maturity issue!I would prefer to focus on quality over quantity, with that said, is 12x12 from sprout better for focusing on quality rather than training plants to fill the space to max yield? Or just a matter of how often you want to harvest?
Talking for the future not just your test run.
I have a 12/12 plant that is bigger than about 1/3 of the autoflowers I grew that were getting 20-24 hours a day. The goal isnt always the biggest plant anyones ever seen; when your pheno hunting or just testing out strains, you might not want a massive plant.Just curious why you’d go 12/12 from seed when plant doesn’t sexually mature for about 3 weeks? I have not gone straight to 12x12 yet but my assumption: time lost in veg will be made up with another harvest per year(or almost another)Just curious why you’d go 12/12 from seed when plant doesn’t sexually mature for about 3 weeks? What it comes down to for a lot of guys is space. If all you have is say a 5x5, you might fit 16 plants in there if you start them at 12/12 or only 9 if you run 18/6 the first few weeks. If your phenohunting 2 strains, you can get 8 and 8 going one route or 4 and 5 going the other.... Its a big difference.I have not gone straight to 12x12 yet but my assumption: time lost in veg will be made up with another harvest per year(or almost another)
Just curious how it can be made up when grown from seed, it can’t start budding for at least 3 weeks anyways, because it’s not sexually mature? So you’re not speeding anything up, you’re just slowing growth down by giving less light! It’d be one thing if a seed could start budding in a week or two but that’s absolutely impossible! 12/12 from seed makes absolutely NO sense! All you do is go in the hole, by all the yield lost by depriving it light, the first few weeks! 12/12 from seed is an awesome idea, if you’re trying to grow the smallest plant possible, in the exact same time you could’ve grown something bigger, with more light the first few weeks! Maybe seeing how small you can bud a plant is a new thing that I’ve missed the boat on?I have not gone straight to 12x12 yet but my assumption: time lost in veg will be made up with another harvest per year(or almost another)
And your 12/12 would be even bigger if it had 18 hours of light, over same period. Unless, like another guy said, you’re pheno hunting and space is an issue, it makes ZERO sense! It absolutely WILL NOT BUD ANY QUICKER going 12/12 from seed, then if you went 24 or 18 hours a light, the first 2 weeks!I have a 12/12 plant that is bigger than about 1/3 of the autoflowers I grew that were getting 20-24 hours a day. I absolutely understand what you mean. I was mostly thinking straight to 12x12 with CLONES Being quicker forcing them to flower as soon as possible, but again would be a smaller plant and wouldn't yield as much each harvest.Just curious how it can be made up when grown from seed, it can’t start budding for at least 3 weeks anyways, because it’s not sexually mature? Although it's really irrelevant...I have a separate germ/veg and flower room and probably won't ever skip giving them 3-6 weeks of 24 lightI absolutely understand what you mean. 18/6 or 20/4 gives them a rest IMO makes better plants . I don't see much of a difference between 24/0 and 18/6 but the 18/6-20/4 plants always seem to be more robust and happierAlthough it's really irrelevant...I have a separate germ/veg and flower room and probably won't ever skip giving them 3-6 weeks of 24 light
Well a clone is a totally different beast then a seedling cause it’s as old as the original plant.I absolutely understand what you mean. I also have a bunch of his freebies and am trying to figure out what to run next go.. any recommendations anyone?!Was going through my seeds. I’ve given away a fair number of these and everyone has been happy that has grown em. This year I will grow at least 1 pack or jest pull 2 beans out of 6 packs. Where should I start? I have a few in mind. When the seedbank hooks you up like that I feel bad for not getting them in rotation. To be fair, many of the purchased beans haven’t been grown either, but that is shifting.
