Yeah it's weird and a bit unnerving - I'm only looking at them when they stand in the sunshine in the morning now, in any other lighting they look too painfully pathetic! lol
My guess is that they just didn't have enough soil - I overwatered the other day and lifted the pots to clean up and saw their roots are bursting out of the holes of the pot. I do think I need to revise the rule of thumb of 1 gallon per month of growth - maybe to 5L soil per month plus some leeway (like that one spoon of tea per person and one for the pot rule? haha). And then of course is the soil quality I need to be more exact about

But yes on the upside the buds are putting on weight nonetheless, and I just checked out the trichs and on the main bud mass they're halfways to cloudy.


So I'm going to reduce light time to 11 hrs today (I kind of forgot about that with all the drama around my job lol) for a few days, max a week, and then to 10hrs. Let em finish off quickly as they probably don't have the resources to make much of more time anyways.

The biobizz "treatment" showed no positive effect at all! They're still auto-defoliating, and yesterday I noticed a disquieting discoloration of just about ALL their leaves.

So I've gone back to amending with vermicompost, gave them half a handful each.
probably I shouldve just stuck with that right away lmao, so much for theorizing too much over stuff!

YES, they have stretched more, YES they have built their buds and continue to fatten, and are icing up a bit too.

And still, I know they're not really healthy, and I feel a bit guilt-stricken when I think on it, especially since they still have another month of flower to go....
All other times of the day however, I'm not phased about it haha! (gosh am I cruel lol)

LOL thanks -- I was thinking (desperately hoping? haha) there was maybe some hidden clue as to why they are acting up like they are in there

Actually I have stumbled over the concept that clones finish faster than their mothers, due to their agewise maturity. That would explain their dropping leaves early in a way that does look kind of like end-of-life yellowing...
But opinion is pretty much split up 50:50 on this - so it's just one other possibility to ponder over whilst fixing up bigger pots with better soil for my next grows

Ok so it's been a week since I gave those girls the aerated compost tea aaand... the leaf drop is slowing down lol
To make sure it wasn't just an impression of mine I compared a degenerating leaf - pix with 3 days between them.

At the pace they were defoliating, these leaves would've been dead by now, but no, they are remaining stable.
So yeah, I shouldve just stuck to what I was doing in the beginning? duh? LMAO
Though in my defense I wasn't trusting the quality of my worm compost, which has improved a LOT since I did the vermicompost extract drenches.

Also, I went through my notes and realized that there was an "event" a week before the yellowing became massive: I had watered 2x with bacillus thuringiensis israelensis to reduce fungus gnat populations (incidentally, that didn't have any positive effect at all). Could this be??
I see the error in my approach. I still have this "kill the foes" mindset where in organics we should always be thinking of how to support balancing out the system instead. But could it really be that flooding a (ok admittedly not very stable) microbial system with ONE type of bacterium can get it so out of whack??

Meanwhile, I have now reduced the lighting to 10/14.
The sparklings continue, and while they're still frosting up I don't see much in the way of fattening anymore.


So I'll still be harvesting in the course of the next week or so, as soon as I see the trichs nice n milky - it'll just feel less like I'm racing Death to them now haha

Glad to hear things are getting better, and there is definitely improvement in the colours of those leaves!
And those buds look gorgeous! I might even grow this strain one day! Is it Sensi Seeds NL5 x Haze? I know Dutch Passion do the same genetics but call it Brainstorm.

and yes this is the sensi seeds nl5 x haze - thanks for reminding me of the brainstorm, I had thought of doing a comparison grow someday - though honestly, it's going to take a few years if I stop to think of the many strains I'm looking forward to growing!

I hear ya, I really don't know what to do next! I've got 3 young uns in veg at the mo that are meant for guerilla. They are in soil and aren't looking great, I haven't a clue when it comes to soil. I'm toying with the idea of just doing 1 guerilla and then transplanting the other 2 into coco and doing them indoors when the LA Con has finished. Or do I just pick one out of my seed collection and run it DWC as normal? Decisions decisions!!

I will PM you that, I won't be documenting them as I'm doing the outdoor grow with a mate who doesn't know I grow indoors, and I think he once set up a journal on here so he would know its me if he ever read anything on here lol

I've had leaves shed lime that before. Moisture stress, too much or little.

I had to stop using my tap water because of leaves falling off.

I'm close to where they treat it. I racked my head and couldn't figure it out. I finally realized that since I moved the only thing that changed was the water. Go figure.

It is bad here. The chlorine burns your skin when you take a shower.

I have two 275 gallon ibc totes I collect rain water. We thought about putting ten totes on the back side of the house to collect rain water.

I will build a frame with railroad ties and 4x4's. I will put an 11th tote about 25 foot in the air. Use a solar pump and build a lift station. Should run the whole house.

If that won't work, I'll mount all ten on a frame about ten foot in the air. Pipe all of them together. 2,750 gallons ten feet in the air should be enough pressure.

My bad, long winded.

I'm not sure what your problem is but it happens to all of use from time to time.

Since you seem to like the organics, I would just build a good super soil.

Ah, I ended up chopping them after my last post
They were just jarred yesterday at about 58%RH after 11 days of slow drying, slow probably due to the damp weather we've been having, plus this time I pretty much left the branches intact - and they were way longer than the ones from the scrog grow.
Yield was 135g - which is not spectacular, but considering the bad things I did to them, is still pretty sweet of them. No issues with the quality - the first smoke was pretty strong and I also noticed it's actually a pretty good painkiller - better than the stuff the docs have been giving me for sure!

There's one more thing I would like to note here regarding effects of ACT: during the harvest, I saw how the plants were actually really juicy and pumped up - they really were revitalized, to an extent that I had short doubts as to whether to harvest at all! But the trichomes were saying "do it"

So, give the plants enough soil and make sure they have good microbial company, and all will be well

Lets see if I can manage to do that for my next babies! The pineapple express is going to go into the "no-till" pot probably today, not sure if I'll have that berry bomb along with it though, as I think I got a retard sprouted (it's a midget, not sure if that's a good starting point for an automatic!).

Wow 11 days thats impressive, I wish I could dry for that long, mine always dry quicker than I'd like!
Can't wait to see how the Pineapple Express turns out, I started one a few years back outdoors but the rabbits ate it! How long are you expecting them to take to finish? The autos I've grown before all typically took around 3 weeks longer than the breeder states.

I've got the Fast Buds Pineapple Express, they say from sprout to harvest = 9 weeks - but I'll defo keep your experience in mind She's looking good and I hope she'll take off now she's in her final pot and the new moon is past.

As for the Berry Bomb (left side) - it's definitely a retard - with microleaves and not budging for 2-3 days now. I'm going to sprout another seed I think!
