Bagseed Grow: T5 High Output Lights

Im thinking about getting a 4' 4 bulb HO T5 lamp for mothers and clones and was wondering how much heat yours put out?

i have a 8 lamp t5 that puts out quite a bit of heat, but stays under 80 with a steady exhaust...

the 4 lamp units should be way cooler

i have the same light reggae, i put a fan under it and it seems to work pretty nice.. that liquid light also works amazing with hot5's (as you know, we've discussed it a few times).

T5's are good lights for specific grows, i have a couple tables, (1 with a hot5 bloom), and other hid blooms... My HOT5 is great for blooming early and keeping the plant smaller (SOG/COLA), you can get decent light penetration on smaller plants like that.. Blooming 3 footers or taller isn't really ideal.. HID's work much better for larger plants..

Keep them buggers pruned and the light close and you should do pretty well..

So would 2 4ft 4lamp run cooler than one 8 lamp? It wont be so much bulbs close together so maybe. I need either 2 4 lamps or 1 8 lamp for veg and wanna know if it would make a difference.

invest in a small heater, or a hps and it will keep it warm

I might try idk yet. Where I live temps can get below zero in the mornings and nights and only warm up to the teens in the day. I might think about a small heater but do you all think the electric bill will go up a whole lot from it?

I have two of the 4 lamp 2ft HOT5 fixtures that I got because I had a veg space that was 24"X33" and I just stuck them next to each other so it was 27"X24" with a 1" gap between them and I had no heat issues on that small space. I only had a small fan in there to move air around and it was good. I think it was because like you said, there weren't so many bulbs close together, but not sure. I plan on using the same lights to veg with in my new space too since I like the way they keep the plants so compact. I'll most likely get another of the bigger ones (4 lampX4' or 8 lampX2') to put over the mothers once they need their own space.

i like the idea of having 2 2ft units for canopy differences.. i know for a fact they are way cooler cause a friend of mine has the same 2' fixure that puts out hardly no heat

I have a couple of those 2 footers as well, they are great lights.. 1 over my cloner and one over my aero veg... You will like all of them, just try and keep the plants smaller for light penetration and you'll be happy..

Have a good un...

That's how mine are at the moment except instead of an aero veg, I have an E&F veg.
