Question a few months ago i picked up a 1/4 of Some Sour Diesel I found seeds in that batch.Would it be safe to Assume if i plant these they would be female? or would it just turn hermie on me. I would like to plant these along side my big bang and double gum. I figure the plant probally grew male flowers late in flower and there werefew seeds produced. so would these few seeds be fiminized? I only found 2 seeds

they could be male/female/hermie. But i know what your saying with the feminized seeds, and feminized seeds are just hermies with almost no male to them. Theres nothing you can tell until you grow it. What if it's not sour diesel? What if the person let another strain pollinate it accidently? What if it's a hermie that had the male balls clipped as it went along?

ive been grrowing bagseed for 8 years you just gotta grow em, then i usually clone em and lable the clones as to what plant they came fromthen flower them and pick the best one and keep that clone as the mother and keep er goin trash the rest

I have been saving the seeds from our bags. We get ours from a grower who does JH and Haze. I can only assume that a hermie got past him a few times.

Anyway, every seed that I have grown (30+) have been female. I have friends who have grown many of them as well with the same results. No hermies, just female. I started 20 seeds this time, 18 of which sprouted within 24 hrs, and I have 10 confirmed females so far, and I pretty much expect that the rest will be female too. Which sucks, 'cuz our grower is now out of biz, and I am almost out of these seeds. I want to continue this line, so I guess I'll have to try and "force" a hermie for pollen.

I have heard a shitload of opinions about this, almost everyone says they are no good, will create more hermies, etc. But in MY limited experience (2nd grow) it's all good!!
I can only assume that they were fertilized by a hermie, since if it was a male that did the deed, I would think that I'd be getting my share of males as well. Thats just not the case.

Just for what it's worth.

Hey pirate... why don't you just take a few clones from your current plants and grow them into mother plants? Then you won't need new seeds every time you want to start a new crop; You can just take clones off your mother plants. That way you'll always know the exact genetics of your plants and can optimize your growing conditions and nutrients for those exact specimens.

Baby steps, dude, baby steps. I am going for the "Just keeping them alive 'til harvest" merit badge right now. My set up is not one that I'd want to keep doing, and IF I do keep doing this, I'm gonna put up a 30x40 metal building for that purpose. That will give me the space to do what ever I want.
Right now, I have 1 room to both start seedlings, veg and flower. Nowhere to keep a mother or clones going while the current crop is flowering, but it would appear that's gonna change. I believe this will pay for itself no prob!!!
