ballast & bulb question

Sup everyone, I haven't grown in about 5/6 years but still have my 600w hps and lumatek digital ballast. I'm just curious if you guys think either is still safe to use. Grew for about 1 1/2 years on a regular kind of sch (18/6 & 12/12) . Thanks in advance.

Ballast is good to use unless dead. Replace bulb every 6 month or every cycle.

Thanks Snap. Thought the bulb would be finished. I'll give the ballast a try.

I have a 15 year old magnetic ballast I still use for veg from time to time.

6 months on the bulb?? seems waaaaay to quick to me. I know with 1k's you have 12-18 months easily.

i've never ran 600's before. Do they lose luminosity that fast???

If so that shoots the whole efficiency argument right down.

Ive been using my 600 watt bulb for just over a year and haven't noticed any difference in yeild at all

6 months on a bulb is awwfully short I am on like 2 years with same bulb I did buy a new one though but.my oldies are still good

Thanks, I've also heard you can get almost 2 years out of a bulb. I'll just have to plug them up and see how it goes. Thanks again for all the help! Can't wait to get going again...
