Ballast help?

I been lookin for a ballast but need some help with someone who has some ballast experience. I want to set up 2 600W's, so I'm wonderin which would be better;
1-Buying 2 switchable ballasts so I can switch from MH to HPS.
2-Buying 2 dual ballasts, 1 for veg and 1 for flower
3-Buying 1 dual ballast for MH and then when the time comes, switch in some HPS conversion bulbs

I'm not sure if thats what is meant by conversion? Does that mean I can go and buy any dual MH ballast and and hook up 2 MH's, and then buy those HPS conversion bulbs and use them in the same ballast?

Buying 2 dual ballasts, 1 for veg and 1 for flower this is alot easyier for you. and well wot have to dink around with them. but if it was me thats just what i would do.

Well I was thinkin the third option would be easiest cause its only 1 ballast to run and all i gotta do is change bulbs but acn conversion HPS bulbs be plugged into any MH ballast or jsut certain ones?

how would I get by with only 1 dual ballast then, if I cant use conversion bulbs. If i hook up a dual ballast MH with 2 MH bulbs, then what am i gonna use when its time to flower if not the HPS conversions..?

get the hps ballast and just use regular MH bulbs... the only diff is the ignitor.. which, if you are electrically inclined, could be bypassed for MH or even routed through a light switch to flick when you switch bulbs. or just build 2 ballasts.. DIY is much cheaper than store bought...

you will just go thru the cycle and hope for females?

no, jsut one big room, everything from seed.
where can i find out how to make the ballasts? im not an electrician or anything so i need a noobs guide for it. and why would i put the MH in the HPS ballast, if i could do that why would they bother making an MH ballast?

MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! same reason crack costs more in the long run than coke... some people are dumb enough to do it!!!!

i'll find a link to mogies DIY ballast wiring... unless you have money dripping out of your ass, i would wire it myself... its easy... and FUN!!!!!!

Dude, if your not an electrician, don't build your own ballast...thats a sure "fire" way to burn your house down. Its worth the 100-200 dollars to get a reliable one.

as for your ballast question. I would get electric HPS ballasts and get MH conversion bulbs (instead of the other way around, ie: HPS conversions). Having the real deal HPS is the way to go. Also, they dont make switchable 600w ballasts. So thats out. If you do your homework you can actually find 600w ballast that run both MH and HPS (certain types, like pulse start). I think Lumateks let you do this.

Yes I will have the money to put in for everything new. ive decided to go with the HPS 1000W with MH conversions. Only reason i wanted 600's was efficiency but now im thinkin ill jsut get the 1000's for as much light as possible. I read an article or two saying only 1x1000W light per breaker? or maybe it said per 15 amp circuit? what exactly is a breaker and circuit? Same thing even? I'm no electrician, sorry for the questions, I need simple answers because google cant help me on this electricity business.
