Banana Kush Autoflower, Indoor

Hi! This is my third grow overall and my first indoor grow. I'm a newbie who started to grow cannabis at the beginning of the pandemic and I've absolutely become hooked! So far my two biggest lessons are: 1) You have to exercise patience; and 2) Growing weed is easy. Growing quality weed is exceptionally difficult. The below grow is already completed. In this first post I intended to describe my setup and basic approach throughout, along with key metrics from along the way. In subsequent posts I will put photos and brief descriptions of any key activities for that week. Please do feel free to leave comments or make helpful suggestions where you think I could make improvements.

Week 3:
NOTE: At this point, vegetative growth is vigorous. I have not yet started feeding any nutrients. This growth is purely from the FFOF. It was during this week when I also began LST, which the plants responded quite well to.

Week 4:
NOTE: By the end of week 4, the plants had reached flowering stage. At this point, I started to feed at half dose (2ml per L)

Week 5:
NOTE: Buds sites seem to be looking good. No signs of deficiencies. I have upped feeding to 4ml / L. I have also started with Big Bud and Bud Candy at 2ml /L

Week 8:
By the end of week 8, the plants have started their fade. At this point, I'm checking the trichomes daily. Interesting, this strain had an overall low odor during flowering.

Week 9:
This plant is definitely a slow finisher. Midway through week 9 I began to gently flush the plants, getting them ready for harvest.

Week 10:
NOTE: Plants have been flushed. As the trichomes look just about ready I have started to stop watering and let the plants dry out before harvesting. I also put the plant in darkness for 72 hours before chopping. Unfortunately, here is where I made a MASSIVE mistake. I allowed the humidity to drop pretty low, which caused the plants to dry out very quickly-- within 3 days. This, unfortunately had a serious negative effect on the end product. Plant 1 came out well and exhibits the proper terpene and smell profiles. Plant 2 dried far too fast and has a "piney" smell. Plants 3 and 4 fell somewhere in-between and are currently curing. I based on how the smell has changed over the past week, I think that plants 3 and 4 will ultimately turn out pretty well. Ultimately, I ended up with 12.2 ounces (dry weight). Although the flavor profile is dramatically different between the 4, the "high" is about the same-- very sedative. If I had to estimate a THC percentage-- based solely on comparing with other strains-- I would estimate between 10-15%. This grow was a lot of fun and I learned quite a bit-- namely, drying and curing is JUST as important as the grow. Another take away is that 4x 5 gallon pots are probably too big/many for a 3x3. In future grows, I plan on switching to 3 gallon pots. Finally, although I found quite a bit of sucess using bottled nutrients, it was a bit of a pain. For my next grow, I plan to try dry nutrients (e.g., Happy Frog line).

Impressive! Did I understand this grow was accomplished using just one 250 watt led lamp? If so tell us the name of the product please. I currently use 3000 watts for a 2 by 6 tent. Anything less would not give me a good yield. Tip for you larger pots make bigger plants, try a 7 gallon and just 1 plant for a 3 by 3.

Not sure if that light is actually 3000watts. What do you mean 2 by 6 like 2 feet tall or 2 feet wide? Either way 3k would be way too much. They just say that in the name to get you to buy it you gotta go to the website and look for actual wattage
