Banana peel & aloe vera

I dumped one quarter of a banana peel and some aloe vera guts into a blender with water and mixed will be feeding plants with solution in the morning . so I was curious if anybody had any experience with this kind of stuff or if anyone had any secret recipes ?

I’ve been told there’s less benefits with store bought bananas but chop and mix with equal parts (weight) brown sugar. Let it sit in a jar or bowl covered with a paper towel and drain after at least a couple days. This will be water soluble and not attract all sorts of things as I’d imagine raw bananas sitting on the soil would. It’s called FFJ and is popular with KNF

I was worried about the raw banana peel I was going to drench and than add fresh soil on top to avoid infestation . I'll look up the brown sugar thing and might give it a try

this is the better way to do it can also add old cannabis leaves for an added boost equal parts sugar to fruit

Chris Trump has a lot of good stuff on Korean natural farming. There are a bunch of recipes like this that can help cut cost and boost biology.

Dumping that in your soil as-is won’t do much; it must be decomposed (or fermented) first in order to be soluble absorbed by the root system. Here’s a link that might help...

What should I use instead of store bought bananas ?

I use store bought banana just cause well shit... but if you can pick fruits early in the morning, like I do with my fermented plant juice, when all the microbes are on the surface of the plant or fruit, it’s much better for biology purposes. I haven’t been doing this long and can’t think of anything like that I can pick this time of year so it’s store bought bananas for me cause I still think it provides a verity of nutrition.

I’ve got two humongous aloeplants that keep outgrowing their containers; I gotta divide them every year and repot or they will get so top heavy they tip right over. They just keep on making baby plants.....

Anyway I’m def gonna try JJs FPJ when I get a chance. Thanks for the heads up, always looking for good beans.

I’m fairly certain even your standard Chiquita is safe. Probably fed my worms a million banana peels over the years w/ no adverse affects. If there were unsafe levels of pesticides the vermicompost would be toxic.
