Was just one 225 enough for your 4x4? HLGs specs say the flowering footprint is only 3x3 max but having two in a 4x4 seems like it would be scorching to me.
its a hot light ive been with it abotu a year now , it flowers a 3x3 , vegs a 4x4 great i even dim it to liek 200. but i did do a flower run with it in 4x4 and results werent "that bad" but i decided to make it a veg light

thanks good to know. i just started my first flower phase with that 225 in a 4 x 4. I have a second one but I am reluctant to put it up. You’re absolutely right that it runs hot. Hotter than I expected for an LED anyway.

yah dude i think its the type of heat sink it has. just runs way to hot without proper cooling n all. you mind if i ask what your set up is like running it in a 4x4 for bloom?

It’s my very first grow! I got six clones as a gift for my birthday in October so the heat from the 225 was a bonus to keep my babies toasty through winter. Definitely going to be a problem in July though! I’m in rockwool blocks using Gen Hydro nutes. I had a lot of issues with the purple punch plants which nearly flatlined on me So they have been vegging for six months while I made so many mistakes trying to figure it out and get them healthy again. I still don’t know what the problem was!! Obviously terrible genetics and not grower error, right? My gorilla glues were bursting so i finally vit the bullet to flip to flower. Of course as a first time grower I had to make everything complicated by not choosing soil!! classic. I hope my plans turn out as well as yours did. Your photos are great. Were you happy with that crop in the end?
