Did you say paper lunch bags? Lol. That’s hysterical!! If I did paper lunch bags I would have like 200 little paper lunch bags Scattered all over the house. I use the huge garden leaf sized paper bags 30 gallon pack of 5 at Lowe’s or Home Depot..... and don’t forget to get some chip clips to keep them closed.

dollarstore/dollarama/ walmart ....any of those stores usually sell various sizes of paper bags still.

I used cardboard boxes and had good success too. Last crop was much bigger than previous crops, so i just used racks and dried in the room before i moved the new plants in.

When i used paper bags, i filled them half full, every time i walked by id shuffle the bags around and let the weed loosen up. 4-6 days and it was ready for storage.

Thanks @Dr.Amber Trichome I'd just be guessing, you are right about the selection out there... and it's hard not to get drawn into the hype. I don't have a lot of grows under my belt and haven't seen a polyploid prior to this grow. I'm not too bent out of shape about the nanners on that bud. I didn't find any other nanners while trimming

The plants came down on Saturday. This was by far my largest harvest to date which is kinda crazy considering I grew half that plants as I did previously. I had help for the first hour of trimming then I was on my own. It took about six hours and I started getting sloppy towards the end. I left the polyploid bud from the largest plant hanging untrimmed. I'll look after that next weekend.

I don't know if there's any direct correlation between wet and dry weights. I weighed the wet bud yesterday and the smallest plant came out at 1007 grams and the largest came out at 974 grams plus the large untrimmed bud that's hanging in the tent. I never thought I'd be trimming two kilos of wet bud lol. I ended up with a good amount of sugar leaf and the largest plant had a lot of fluffy bud at the bottom of the canopy that I didn't bother trimming or weighing.

Gotta say I'm pretty thrilled with the results.

I started the next generation of plants on Sunday and they should be ready to go back into the buckets next weekend. I'm just going to continue to use this journal thread for my next grow.

Fantastic harvest, LG  You should be proud of yourself. I wouldnt worry about the nanners. Too late for them to spoil your party now. lol
Nothin' wrong with using paper bags! lol. In the past I formerly would used them to help transition from the nets to the jars.
I adopted a new method a while back. I still have one of my old dry racks for the smaller buds, but I got my new drying and curing method from videos I watched from RGL Industries. They are known for growing super dank herb, and their master grower showed how he pulls his bigger fan leaves, leaving most of the inner 'sugar leaves'. All buds are left attached to the branches and they're strung from lines and dried a bit slower with those sugar leaves still intact. My dry time is usually about 8-9 days. After that, its straight to turkey bags or jars.
Since starting this method, my herbs have gotten quite a bit stankier. Food for thought.

Very very nice so far! Ill be keeping an eye out for sure on how this turns out. Been curious to some of barneys farms new gear. But hey if its strong amazing smells, insane insane frost i got three strains you should look up for food for thought.
1. DNA genetics golden berry. Tasted like sweet orange candies lol. Best tasting strain ove ever had. Very different.
2. Sour glue bu medical seeds. If its strength you want...this..is..it. ive had people smoking for 20 years green out off of 2 regular sized joints lol. Just an amazing unique buzz.
3. Super critical cbd bud. Cant remember the breeder off hand. Thc and cbd in the mid 20% range. Very nice strain and massive fat buds. Amazing growth too. Handles mainlining very very well.

Blackberry dream by elev8 is very finicky, but the yeilds, smells, potency, and did i mention yields...the yields are intense. Needs a longer veg time if you get the kimbo pheno. Very very tight node spacing and thick stems.

I hit up Canadian Tire, Home Depot, and the dollar store yesterday. No luck on the yard waste bags, most of their seasonal stuff has been put away for the year. I'm just going to make do with what I have. It can't be more than a dozen bags.

I like the drying rack. I bought an eight tiered rack with no zippers to replace the one in the photo. I'll use the old rack for drying trim. I like them, but I wish they were square instead of round. It's hard to use the entire surface with long sticks.

I left one of the polyploid buds untrimmed hanging in the tent. Question for you and @Brandon137 Isn't it a lot harder to do your final trim when they're dried and leaves are encasing the buds? I'm seriously considering getting one of these before my next harvest.

This is my second barney's grow first one wasn't that great, but it wasn't the fault of the seeds, just my inexperience. I haven't given any thought to what my next grow will be after the chocolate mint og. I'll check those out, thanks for the info.

Yeah its definitely harder but it helps slow down the drying a bit however I do a vary rough trim job as I have early on set arthritis and trigger finger according to the doctor lol got those issues from deburring parts at work

Trimming dry cannabis is a bit more intricate, but not a lot different from chop day trimming imo. It really has helped with obtaining that ideal funk to my herb, and all I gotta do is trim next week rather than this week to get that extra little stank to it.
I dont really think Im the guy to comment on the auto trimmer. I dont think I would like it. However!! If my lady were to see it, we'd have one by Saturday:p She hates trim day and thinks Im way too meticulous. Besides... Even if you trim at chop day, that little bowl will ruin the little charas smoking party that generally happens while all are cleaning their fingers on trim day. lol

I put a few buds in a jar with a hydrometer today and it's just over 80% after five days. I'm guessing it will be good by Saturday. How much longer does it take to dry when you dry trim? I realize all things aren't equal and environment is a big factor.

This trim wasn't a smoking party for me, more like a suckfest lol. I had my sister and my partner there to help. My sister is pregnant and said the smell was making her sick so she lasted an hour. My partner went to make lunch and never came back so I was trimming by myself for six hours. I watched a video on that trimmer and the guy said he can do about 1 lb of wet bud in 30 minutes. It's obviously not as close as a hand trim, but two hours would have been much better than six.

I think you want to burp and maybe even leave the lid open for a while to lower the humidity to 60-62% then they can stay shut and passively burped whenever you wanna smoke.

Hey LG just a heads up I'm pretty sure those buds need to come out of the jar for a bit if the RH is that high, you never want it over 70 in there as far as I know..
i agree with this, at 80% your gonna run the risk of pm or mould rearing its nasty head.

Id pull the weed from jars and bag it for another day or 2 until its down around the 65-70% mark at most.

I chop the plants hole and try to have the soil nice and dry before the chop kinda acts as a pre dry. I aim for about 50-60% humility during drying and 20deg takes about 8-14 days then I trim and jar them and burp twice a day if I'm lucky I dont forget to close the jars before work happens once and a while wife hates it when that happens lol I burp them for about a week or two
