Nice to meet you Dank Gorilla! I can understand why someone would outgrow (har, har) a Producer fairly quickly if they wanted really tall plants. I think we just need to learn how to master making them thick, short & bushy! Looking forward to checking out your work as well.

Today is going to be a neat journal update. I’ve decided to prune these Super Critical ladies. Sticking to the general rule of leaving most growth alone 4 nodes from the top, I hope this will help divert all of the important flowering energy so that these plants can create really big buds. Here are some before and after shots:

I'm glad I waited to prune until now because from the cuttings I was able to take 27 Super Critical clones and put them into 1" rockwool cubes. They're now sitting under a CFL bulb inside a Secret Jardin DR40 tent so they can begin to root. My goal in taking so many is to help the strongest clones develop really good roots before transplanting them into the 3" cubes. In the end I want the strongest 1 or 2 to become bonsai Super Critical mother plants.

Quite the crash course in pruning and cloning tonight to say the least!

Next are some close-ups of how the baby flowers are doing:

As always, hi-res photos and more over at Heisenkush.com

G'night folks!

omg, your garden looks great- i just harvested mine 4 days ago, it was pretty weak- the slime really did a job in stunting my plants, when it dries i will probably only have 4-6 ounces. Am cleaning EVERYTHING with h202 and bleach and starting out with fresh clones and heisenberg tea from day on- i am also adding another air pump to my system and a res heater as my producer is in a shed and it is starting to get cold. again- NICE WORK

Thanks for the kind words. 4-6 ounces still isn't the end of the world, but it sounds like you have a good grasp on the things you're gonna do differently next time around.

It's getting pretty crowded over here. Definitely to the point where I have no choice but to start using tie downs. Hindsight tells me I should think about doing this a couple weeks earlier on the next grow. If the plants touch the glass ceiling that the light bulbs are behind, they're as good as being tossed in a frying pan. So to help tame them a little bit, I'm going to start pulling down on certain parts of the plant with cotton twine to coax them to branch out versus only growing vertically.

Here are some before/after shots:

This was taken immediately after attaching the tie down before going to bed:

In the morning 8 hours later:

It's so neat to watch the plants literally turn themselves towards the light:

The buds on some of the plants are beginning to fill in with lots of white female pistils:

Thanks Maphisto! I sure am. Between 2-3 gallons of room temp pH balanced water seems to do the trick. Next time I'll have a better eye for topping and tying down much earlier.

Do the under lights burn the leaves or stems? I turned mine on and they felt really hot to the touch. I've got stems resting on the lights at multiple points.

A few other things....

your website link isn't working for me. I'd love to check it out.

When you top up your res, do you also add more nutrients?

What day of flower are you on? Your last post was October 17, time for an update. :p
