Hu? 3590's are good for like 137w or more. 16 in that light right? That's about 52w each plus fans = 900. That's less then 1/2 power.Which begs the question, how are they getting 900w out of their lights when theirs only 800w max driving them? They have alright marketing at least.
Also, active cooling is not necessarily an energy waste.
Mine run @ 100 watts each n I'll tell you what, I've never seen anything so freaking bright! Your yields will determine your efficiency, not any chart. But I get it.yes but they are being driven by 1400ma drivers. so 16 lights x (1.4ax36v) is 806.4 Watts. they are calling it a 900w light. you are right you could drive them harder with different ballasts, but i wouldnt
Well how is that bcblondes fixture? I am looking to get the same one and was wondering how you like it. Thanks for any info you can give. Is it as they describe? Top bin.i have ordered one of the bcblondes lights. mostly due to the fact it is in canada. and once you factor in exchange and shipping across the border it is about the same price as the cx16 but has 3590s supposedly CD bin pulling 900w. no disrespect to JGL, i am sure your lights are kickass. i should have it in a few days and will do a journal on my first grow with one. i have been wanting a cob led for a while now.
so far i am loving this light. my plants are at 26 days post flip and the buds are blowing up. They are going through water and nutes faster than with the CMH 315 and i cant wait to pull down my first harvest with this beast.Well how is that bcblondes fixture? Props for standing behind your company!Hi there, BC Blondes is my company and website.
Always love checking this forum and seeing whats up.
Just wanted to clarify a few points, the $1699 is canadian dollars which at todays rates is about $1270 USD
We use genuine cxb 3590 cd bin chips. If i were to put shitty chips in, your yield would be less and i want to build the biggest baddest commercial light available, use your yield as a measuring stick as to how much light comes off this thing.
(i will attach the par map)
Yes its a ton of light coming out of one fixture, its made for big huge hard buds in commercial grows. The feeding schedule is slightly elevated with this light compared to traditional 1000 watt hps so you gotta be on it, things happen fast. Theres grams per watt, pounds per light, but also pounds per square foot, this fixture excels in all those categories.
This easily covers a 4x4 but pulls major weight on a 5x5. If you are new to growing then try a 5x5 if you know what your are doing and can grow fast (1650+ co2) use it on 4x4. Its a fucking beast.
Once the buds form you can drop the light closer and closer. We start at 24 inches and slowly bring it down, sometimes we are as close as 10 inches from the tops, the last 1-2 weeks. Depends what the particular strain can handle but weve run mostly kush varieties.
How do we arrive at 940 watts from the wall? Most people tend to forget there is driver heat/driver loss. Our fixtures are checked with watt meters before they leave our canadian inspection facility. and do in fact pull that much wattage. Our drivers are turned all the way up on the 1400ma meanwell driver, which gives another 8% about in output(although i measure about 9-10%), so the chips are running at about 53 watts each, then with driver heat the driver and chip combo is pulling about 56.4 watts * 16 = 902 + the fans etc
Weve actually got a new one coming thats even more powerful, with 1750ma's and dimming. Lol Pretty much for 5x5 only.
Hope that helps, ill try to check in more often.
I welcome reviews of our fixtures, i firmly believe you will absolutely love it when you see the size of the buds and just how healthy your plants look.

Props for popping it open and showing us the guts. Man that would rock the crap out of half my flower tent too decisions decisions lol........Heres a few pics i just took. For the watt meter readings i took readings at each of the 3 power levels.
Keep in mind, this is on 110v and the fixture is not warmed up. when its warmed up it drops from about 985 to 940ish
hope this helpsView attachment 3821704 View attachment 3821705 View attachment 3821706 View attachment 3821707 View attachment 3821708 View attachment 3821709 View attachment 3821710 View attachment 3821711 View attachment 3821712 View attachment 3821713
It will be the same as the 16 chip 900 which has 1400ma's in it but with 1750 ma'sWhat kind of price will the new one be and when will it be available?
Do you have any numbers on the new one, watts in and out etc?
We have tested both 3000k and 3500k, 3500k seems to work the best, but 3000k is is no slouch. Currently we dont do custom builds though. Have you seen better performance with a 3000k or something different? thanksProps for popping it open and showing us the guts. Can the customer request a different color temp for the COB's or is the 3500K the only option?
I am testing the 3K right now my first girl start 12/12 dark in 1.5 hours under them I vegged her under it as well and have another tent with 5K vegging too I am just liking the growth characteristics so far from the 3K but we will see how it does for flower. I have in the past used 3500K on a pre built light but these are DIY.We have tested both 3000k and 3500k, 3500k seems to work the best, but 3000k is is no slouch. His flagship light is very close or cheaper than any DIY out there. Actually a damn good deal. With all the info and helpful members it's hard to understand why you wouldn't DIY.
Im not sure if i understand correctly but if you tried vegging on a 3k and thought it was doing better, is that because the plant was taller? it will stretch much more under the 3k then the 5k. You dont necasarily want stretch.
