The only one that makes any sound is the fan so you could use a controller, or maybe even just some ONA if you only have a plant or two. But "not for lowryders" sure does leave a lot of strains and quantity of plants wide open. You could use CFLs if you're worried about the hum of a ballast, but my ballasts haven't been a sound problem. I'm told digital is the quietest and that's all I have. I wouldn't even waste my time on CFLs... they do work, I started with them, but hps/mh will make you feel like youve been wasting your time. However, there is a new humorous thread on RIU called something like "CFLs vs HPS ... which one is really the best?" but it's just for comedic relief started by someone who obviously has no idea what they're talking about or the difference between blue and red.

ONA is harmful.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that ONA isn't harmful to plants. I've never found a complaint about ONA negatively affecting the taste or smell of cannabis. Worst comes to worst, you can just dilute it so it neutralizes the smell of cannabis and doesn't leave an after effect of fresh smell (aka as a neutralizer, the way it's suppose to be used).

Using it in an air bucket would eliminate the need to build a complicated carbon filter exhaust.

If you're not set on the idea of using gel, you could take an ONA block and dangle them from the ceiling for fans to blow on and circulate the air neutralization. That's what I'd do since I'm a cheapskate. :bigjoint:

Follow the Nike principles..... Just do it. :-) Do you need it to be completely silent? Not gonna happen unless you use only pc fan's and that probably wont work for a tent. My advice would be to consider if you really need it silent, or do you need it stealth. Either way the best thing to do would be to start small, don't buy everything at once that way you can slowly build up your setup to what you want, because it is not possible to plan it perfectly like you are maybe seeing it in your head. My setup changes constantly depending on what I need it to do. IE silent, cooler, hotter or stealth....

Hi all
Searching net, but couldn't find anything about it. anyone know about grow tent in bedroom, is it harmful for human health, in any way? like with all lights
and filters and so on. lets say 600w hps light. are hps lights harmful for humans? or carbon filter extracting into the room not outside?
thanks

Im gonna go ahead and say if you're worried about your tent hurting you you should rethink some things, the only way I could see a grow tent hurting someone is if they got trapped inside it. everything is harmful to your health to some degree. Living is harmful to your health. but from a personal perspective I've been sleeping in the same room as my setup for the past few months and haven't noticed any hair loss or anything so I wouldn't worry about it

This. I'll take my chances betting on getting cancer from a cellphone than getting hurt from a tent or ONA gel.

Don't forget how seriously dangerous those fuzzy declawed kittens are in comparison to the frightening tent.....

I've used both ONA and grow in my bedroom, in fact I did a few grows under a cal king loft bed I built, I was running multiple florescent fixtures, an AC and 2 x 1000watt lights.
Sleeping on top of my grow never caused me any problems aside from the fan noise being a little tough to get used to.
as far as the ona goes, I like to just take a small chunk and put it in my exhaust line instead of using the whole can. that way I dont have to worry about fumes inside or the bud smell outside.
