The bulb gives off a bit of heat, but you could easily hold it. It also comes with a starter which also gives off a heat, a bit more than the bulb I would say. Don't forget you could get the same 10.0UVB as a CFL, and you wouldn't need a starter then. But I do like my bulb as it's 30"/75cm long and so it spreads out better, and yeah supposedly it is fine up tp 50cm away from the plant so it says..there is a pic so you can see itYeah i looked into those earlier. it seems the 10. ones are the best. Do they give off much heat? I read they have a 20" range.

btw it's off otherwise I would go blind, not taking any chances
Haha yeah mate, if it's going to make the bud that much better which I do have high hopes for80 quid for two sounds good to me, mate. :bluntsmoke:
Just tooo kewl.... I can't wait to hear what kind of results you are achieving. The bulb gives off a bit of heat, but you could easily hold it. Are you going to try and get a UVB? Telling you man it must be worth it *fingers crossed*
I think I believe the range. Some of these reptiles are not only expensive to buy, but (i imagine) fairly expensive to keep too. The bulbs are designed to mimic the UV rays these creatures would receive in their natural habitat.
I think the placement of these bulbs is going to be essential... they will definitely need to be above the plants... yet they could quite reasonably (I think) be lower than the HPS. If we could somehow hang a naked (no casing in the way) uv bulb below the HPS. We'd have it made. To me this suggests, contact points stretching across the grow area. These contact points would need to be adjustable, or more of them in varying degrees to match predicted growth rates.
Why not start a new grow? You're welcome, was my pleasure, I still want to start from the beginning ...
