Are you using a hygrometer?
45% is not the least bit too dry for drying. I just finished drying my buds in a room with 45-50% RH. I left the buds on the branch and hung them for 3-5 days (depending on size). They are now in jars that I'm burping once a day and they are holding around 67% in the jar.45% is a little high, when I dry in my basement its about 48% and it takes forever to dry. I don't do it anymore because Im scared they will mold. Now I bring they upstairs in a closet. They get dry enough in 4-5 days to start the jar and burp process. It obviously absolutely stinks the house up, so you might want to set a filter up or some prevention. Since I have been drying upstairs, not only is the initial dry quicker, but an over all better aroma in the end.
I'm sorry to hear that - maybe try a small humidifier or something like it to keep your rh up a little bit more so they don't dry as fastWell it looks like 5 days was too long. I jarred them up and they never came back. In order to salvage anything good I took several members advice to trim a fresh leaf and toss that in with the jar and try to continue curing as usual. Kind of a bummer but it's a great learning experience.
