Been to Amsterdam?

Hey guys,
I'm planning a surprise trip for my wife and I to go to Amsterdam for a "stoners vacation". We never got to have a real honeymoon so after 3 years of happy marriage, we're doin' it.
Have you been there? What coffee shops, restaurants, places of interest, and stoner attractions do you recommend?

She is a bigger stoner than I am, and she has always wanted to go, so this is a big one.Thanks!

A few of my friends have gone to Amsterdam and really enjoyed it. I haven't found the time to go myself but I’ve heard many good things. I know a person that went lucky guy. I was getting some info because its on my to do list. To try all those different kinds of smoke. Any ways he told me to get over there and try Cantalope Haze from Grey Area coffee shop He told me it was by far his favorite. He also told me there was a camping sight with in walking distance if your interested. Make sure you post a thread on your trip.

i've been but i dont remember shit for names of places. just go walk around. it's real safe and the prices dont vary too much between shops. they have alot of the same strains too. they'll have 3 or so that set them apart.

If you prefer things a little quieter, I'd recommend staying in Rotterdam. It's only 30 miles away from Amsterdam. Much cheaper, and you'll find rarer bud. Take walks through the countryside, and you will come across grow patches.

The coffee shops in holland buy their weed illegally, mostly from outdoor farmers dotted across the country. If you use your head you may come across one of these cultivation spots.

Heres a question. If i went to amsterdam could i buy seeds and bring them back with me? I live in canada so i can buy seeds here but was just wondering if i could bring back seeds or would it be consided smuggling?

I live (well a month ago) in Idaho and it's one of the strictest states in the US on marijuana... so it's very hard for me to imagine somewhere where you can't get in trouble for it! it just seems like heaven to me...

Yo CannaBoss. My wonderful girlfriend took me to Amsterdam for my 21st birthday just before Christmas last year. It was awesome, and a great choice for a couple holiday - aside from being the home of stoning in Europe, it's also very romantic!
Things I'd recommend:
Rookie's coffeshop
The Rijksmuseum
The Vincent van Gogh museum
A tour of the canals - we took a tour that's run from Boom-Chicago Boom Chicago - Reach us
It's not your average tour, which is ehat makes it so much better. Basically it's run by a charity who resurrect old canal boats and then use them to show people around the canals a few at a time. Don't go in one of those horrible massive glass roofed monstrosities with fifty German tourists, get a picnic together, buy some good green, and go see Amsterdam from the water.

Just make sure you're in one of the new rooms at the front, we were on the 2nd floor right at the front of the building with a balcony overlooking a canal, which was lovely for a post-coital smoke!

I spent 10 days there. Probably remember 4 of those lol.
What a great vacation. However I did need a holiday when I came back to recover from the sensory overload of sex and drugs. A beautiful city, we strolled around several times on mushrooms. Watch out for the bikes, everyone rides them. And stay away from the canals, the edges are slippery when stoned. The are some very digs there. You can get a room at a hostel for a prety good rate. Keep an eye on your stuff. Eating is cheap too. Most of the coffe shops serve food and if not, there is a resturant or cafe close by for a grilled sandwich (toastee) mmmmm they were good. A version similar to our grilled cheese with ham. Definatly go on a brewery tour - Heineken or Amstel - for budget reasons - they give you free beer.
I want to go back now.

I go once a year - its the greatest place in the world!

For sure stop at grey area - Its one of only a handful of shops owned and operated by americans. They sell in eigths and dimes - everywhere else sells in grams. Its a small ass shop with 3 tables and a bar - go early and get a seat.

Paradox - a health food coffee shop - they make kick ass smoothies and toasties. They also sell a few choice strains. This is more of a locals shop, very friendly, not commercial.

All roads lead to De Kuil - also known as 420 cafe. If your lost, look up and you will probably be standing in front of 420 cafe. This shop rox - nice pastry shop across the street for you to drool at while you get high. They also have cats. I got up and bought a gram of Caramello hash, got back to my seat and a cat is curled up. So, pulled up another chair and got high with the cat. One of the best times of my life.

Dont buy TOO MUCH weed. Remember - 5 grams is all that is allowed on a person at one time. Not that anyone will check, but you may as well stay within the 'law'.

Red light district is funky - i stayed away as much as possible - Tons of huge black men asking you if you want any coke or extacy every 2 feet. Dont buy anything on the street - you will get robbed or worse.

If your staying for a long time, you can take a train to paris for a day trip, or a boat to london. Both are good times and take about 6 hours each way.

Rotterdam rocks, and so does Haraalam. Check em out if ya can. very mellow towns.

Amsterdam is like vegas on crack. Its high pace, and will burn you out.

OH, almost forgot -
You can borrow the house bongs- most of the nice shops have cool glass pieces you can use. Tip the bud tender if you borrow a bong!
I take those little clorox wipes to wipe the mouth of the bong before use.
They must love us paranoid americans!

Buy a cheapo pipe from one of the many headshops when you get there (or bong if you can afford it). I get bored rolling splifs, and the pipe/bong help out alot in hotel rooms. You will have to donate or toss the device before leaving the country.

and dont tell the border check people your there to blow tons of bowls, they look down on cannabis tourists and may not allow you in the country.
If you and the mrs get bored, there are about 5 channels of PROSTITUTES ON DEMAND on local TV. just numbers you can call to order the whore on the screen.

have fun, dont bring anything back - its not worth it.
I always get the dog sniffing my crotch in Cincinatti on my way back.
