Beginner cloning question

okay so I'm in the process of growing 2 plants(from bagseed), hoping to get atleast one mother. I was just wondering if there was a way to tell if the plants were female without triggering the flowering stage so i could continuously cut clones, or would i have to start 12/12 in order to find that out? thanks alot in advance for any help.

I'm not sure, maybe someone can tell you if it's possible but can't you get one clone from each one and put the big ones to flower, so your clone will be your mother later?

I'm in this same process now. My plan is to grow large enough, until I can get a decent cutting to force flower after rooting and a little vegging. Should be able to tell what it is after that point. This should save the 'mother' if it happens to be so.
