I've been reading many guides and othe rthreads here and else where. My main question about hydroponics growing is the lights. So from what I can get is that a 125-250 watt CFL light is good for the blooming and actual grow stages of the plant. Should I use a smaller size bulb for the veg stage, and then change to the 125-250 watt bulb once it's time for the flowering stage?

Just to let you know, I'm looking to do a single 2 gallon bucket DWC system. I have an old cabinet in my bedroom that would fit this sytem perfectly. I understand how to grow and get thius system working. I'm simply looking for a small plant, Norther Lights is what I have in mind, for personal use and possibly sell some to my friends to help get money back from my expenses.

the 250 watt cfl would be a good choice for flowering one nice sized plant with.. as far as the seedling and early veg stage, you can always use a few smaller wattage cfl bulbs in the 6500k range.. once they get to be about three or four weeks of age, i would probably put them under the 250 watter and use that for the rest of veg and all of flowering.. if you were to go with the smaller watt cfls, i would try and get the most of the biggest actual wattage bulbs that you can afford or fit into your space.. you can always use the smaller cfl's for side lighting once you start to flower.. for flowering though, you would want the 2700 watt cfl's, but you can always mix and match the 6500 and 2700's, which i always think is a good idea anyhoos..

Thank you!

I actually just remembered one other question about the DWC system. Do a set the water level right at the bottom of the net pot, or right below it, or what? Other than that, I believe I've found everything I need to know.

I started off having my pot at water level,,but as my grow progressed( roots) I leave 3 inches between pot and water.

only my opinion

Happy Growing
