Beginner in Cannabis Plantation

Hello guys, i'm a begginer. I have in my culture with two northern lights x shiva, one of the plants is doing very well with a lot of ramifications, and with 60cm or 2ft. The order is growing slowly, she is shorter, with 40cm or 1.31ft. They are in the 7 week with 18 hours of light, but im worried because the big one is showing pistils and is already very early, am i wrong??

It most likely just means the plant is ready to flower so when ever you are ready you can cut the day down to 12 hours and she'll be off. You can force the other one not showing pistils into flower now too since you say they are 7 weeks old.

Thanks! But if i cut the day down to 12 hours she wil not have efficiency enough because she have 2ft, and i was expected 300 grams. What will happen if i do not cut the day?
How about the small one, what should i do?

You could put the small one on a box so it's closer to the light...if not already done....

I think some pics might help.... woth a 1000 words :)

You are a beginner, and are expecting 300 grams off one plant?? Beginners should not have high expectations.

ROFL! 300 grams on your first grow from one plant? You might get that in wet weight if you include the stalks and the fan leaves....

Keep your expectations low mate as obviously you don't know what you are talking about.

Sorry if I came off as bashing you, this wasn't my intention and is done in good faith :)

I know i should expect so high income because, obiviously i'm a beginner, but had experience in other tips of plants...

I have my plants in a big wardrobe, with 3 CFL's with 23w and 28w each one of they. Do you think i should put more lamps on the small one?

Ps. How i put pics?

Cannabis is really easy to grow as far as plants go, so if you have experience growing other plants - you'll probably do fine if you can keep your eagerness and expectations in-check. There's a grow journal section on here you can check out to get a better idea of what to expect come harvest time. Just search for some completed ones that are similar to your setup (wardrobe and CFLs).

I'd provide as many CFL's as reasonably possible within heat and space constraints.

There is an 'insert image' icon that looks like a tree within a frame on the menu bar.

Thanks!

Maybe monday i will put some pics to you.

I have some questions, i can prune the plants even the big one showing pistils? They are still in 18 hours of light.
I can keep the plants in vegetative (18h light) state until when i want?
Another question, in vegetative state the time is 18h light and 6h dark, in flowering 12h light and 12h dark, and i keep 12h light until the end, isn't need to change the time no more?

You could prune while in veg, they recover quickly from pruning and respond by increased branching. Pruning isn't generally advised though (unless you have a specific goal for doing so of course).

You can keep them in veg as long as you want - just remember they will likely double or triple in size (or more) from the point you start flowering them.

And yeah, after you switch to 12/12 you'll want to keep them under 12/12 until harvest.

oh my .... I don't care how many CFL bulbs you use . You will not achieve that goal with those lights. You are expecting 10 1/2 Ozs. You will need at least a 600W HPS and 5 plants.

LOL , the buds in those pics are soooo spindly , I bet that they don't weigh much more than one oz. you will see and wonder what the hell happened.
Thank you guys!!

WolfZen my idea is to prune the top of the plants to increased branching, so to increase yield. The buds of the branching will be bigger and instead of one big bud i will have 2. Do you think is a good idea?

dadio161 take a look on this https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/148275-cfl-flower-day-one-10.html

Best thing to do is give it a try so you can see first-hand how the plants respond. It's all about learning at first right?

You'll generally get a bushier/shorter plant with more bud sites of smaller size but you'll lose having one larger cola. It's a trade-off but can increase yield some overall if the plant fits under the lighting better as a result.

your plants look pretty good.

you can keep them in veg (18 hours of daytime) for as long as you want, so if you want a large yeild go ahead and vegg for 4 more months if you want.

3 CFL is way too little light to expect anything decent. go out to the store and pick up about 2 dozen 26w CFL's and a shitload of Y connectors and fixtures and light that room up like the 4th of july then you may see 300grams off that plant after 4 more months veg and 400w more lights , not being mean just idealistic.

Now i have a hps 250W do you think i should buy more cfl's? The hps isn't enough?

They are 2 month old, i'm putting more 30 minutes of dark every day, for they start flowering, because in flowering time they get bigger and then i will not have space enough.

Nice plants if i wer you id go out and get a 600w HPS you still may not get 300g, 250w HPS i have never used and wont use nothing less than a 600w...

In my bud room i have one 600w HPS in a cool tube and one 125w cfl under the plants...

But the plants are just two, i think its not necessary to buy a 600W, am i wrong? And i will continue to use the cfl's.
