My thought is to use the final 5gal pot from the get go... seemingly, transplanting isn't really for newbies? I just have 5 pots, I planned to actually plant in 2 maybe 3 of them. Trying to decide how I should plant strains... multiple of the same strain, since there are 3 strains I could do 1 of each strain, etc.
Your odds are better starting in a small container/bag and transplanting to your 5 gal pot after a few weeks.
It's more difficult to correctly water a delicate seedling in a large container; particularly if you haven't done so before.
Transplanting is trivial.

Nope. Photos. 1.8gal coco dtw.
Veg time costs the most money so more plants = less veg time = less overall cost per run. There are some disadvantages to running smaller plants but not many for my situation
How do you figure it cost more money? From the lights being on longer?I have my lights dimmed during veg and dont crank it up until flower. When flowering I am constantly battling humidity and the dehumidifier seems to be constantly running. I dont have a power meter for it, but I assume its cheaper than powering the lights for the extra hours.

How long do you veg for? You must have your nuets dialed in perfectly with 1.8gal.

Thanks for the advice and tips! I've read multiple reviews about this light... some say it gives 150w... some say it's equivalent to 400w HPS and the list goes on... I'll be intentional to learn how I can know the real wattage. So, in your opinion there is no reason to mix soil? Over the last few months of researching I've seen so many people saying OF is too hot for seedlings, especially autos? I guess it all boils down to everyone's personal experience? I'm planning on getting FF Trio nutes and I just ordered Langbeinite 0-0-22... No nutes until 3-4 weeks?
From their description: "Our KP1000 LED light adopts a high-tech SMD LEDs and reflector technology , compares to traditional 400W HPS/MH while consuming only 100W!"

The reason why some companies advertise it as 1000W or whatever and make you hunt for the actual wattage is because LED lights use electricity more efficiently. For example, a 100W incandescent bulb is replaced with a 14W LED and has the same lumen output, which is why the manufacture of incandescent bulbs have been outlawed in the US. That said, HPS is more efficient than incandescent, so it's not 100W HPS PPFD brightness per 14W LED when comparing to HPS.

As for 5 plants, unless you have general gardening chops, you should start smaller and simpler on your first grow. New growers regularly post pics on forums and Discord showing 6 dying plants because they got overwhelmed and shit went south quickly, and you certainly don't want to get behind the 8-ball when growing autos. Make things easier so they are manageable as this will help ensure you make it to harvest (and have a good one) and are also able to manage post harvest responsibilities.

Yes, but remember that different people do things differently. There comes the "Personal experience" If everyone used the same water, medium, nutes etc & all in the same climate/region.. things would be the same. Some variables we have no control over.

If you're going with the FF trio.. skip getting the langbeinite and get a bigger bottle, or multiple small bottles (2-3) of the Big blooms. That goes faster than the others.

FF nutes work well as long as you are getting run off each feeding, or flushing once a week to rid the medium of salt build up. Either one should suffice.

Got ya! I'll for sure take this into consideration and may attempt a transplant with one. Thanks!

Thanks! That makes sense about the lights, I'll order a 2nd light.... maybe a "2000w" to run alongside the "1000w"?

I'll more than likely opt for 2-3 plants. Just gotta figure out which 2-3 and go from there! Solid info, I appreciate it

Got ya, admitingly I've been ignorant to the fact that climate/region can impact inside of the tent?

I already have langbeinite... so skip ordering the FF trio? And use the langbeinite as nutes?

Day time power rates cost more money and the lights are on for longer. Veg cycles dip into peak rate charges.
When you are using coco you don't need giant pots.
I don't really time my veg, I just have them running on 18-20 hrs until they're big enough then I flip. Some strains grow fast other need more time.

The FF trio has everything you need besides extra calmag that some growers usually end up using.
I wouldn't use the langbeinite at all unless you wanted to "Try it" for some reason.

Update;
First, I'd like to extend gratitude to all of you who chimed in and welcomed me into this community. Reading through the many pages, posts and especially the comments attached to this thread has been very informative and helpful.

I decided to go ahead and get started yesterday, 9/30. I had 7 seeds, all from RQS, unfortunately when opening the first pack (Royal Gorilla), I lost 2 seeds, totally my fault, I opened the pack too aggressive. So I just planted one Royal Gorilla 50/50 FFOF and FFHF, the Northernlights in FFHF, and the Fat banana in FFOF. This was primarily done as an experimental run with no real expectation aside from learning. Each plant is in a 2g pot. I used a turkey baster to drop maybe 7-10 drop directly where I'd put the seed, placed them and dropped another 3 drops of water on them... misted my dome (clear cups) and placed them over the seed. They are in complete darkness, sitting at 79-80 degrees, and 88% humidity. FF trio will be here next week Tuesday.

Any tips, suggestions, or general comments are appreciated, and always will be!

Peace! Happy Saturday
