Beginner problems

I started 2 clones in a dwc setup 2 weeks ago. I have been to feeding as suggested. 1 pot has no roots sticking out. And the other has only 1 root sticking out. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Plain water, ambient light & no food for cuttings until after roots form.

Good luck
Thanks. I purchased 2 clones in Rockwool that already had established roots. Im pretty sure I messed up the whole process. But watched videos and went off those. Both plants seem to be growing but the leaves look like In shock maybe. Still green. But I have been giving nutes. But only 1 root is in the water and the other has an odor in the water and no roots

I have a 4 inch air stone. And I continue to top feed with with the nute water. I did purchase General hydroponics rapid start. Are you saying just to use that. I have both plants in a grow tent with 1000w full spectrum led light on veg. I'm new to the site. If its ok with you ide like to be able to post a pic so you can see the status of plants

This shorter plant has the water odor and no roots. The other is taller but only 1 root that is actually in the water

How long has it been? Usually I found they will root slow if you over top feed. What are the ambient temps? What kind of lighting?

So I just cleaned out the slow growing plant bucket. I have 1 single light on 18/6. I top feed in the morning and when I get home. Temps can get pretty high in the tent. Sometimes to 90 degrees with 50% humidity. I have a 4 in fan going 24/7. And a air filtration system blowing air out. Do you thing I should just top feed that plant with no water in the bucket and give it the root enhancer till roots are visible

You want the netpots close enough that they're wet from the mist generated by the bubbles, you shouldn't need to top feed if the bottom of the hydroton is staying moist.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your light is not 1000w nor full-spectrum

Because that's what the data says

Technology marches on, there's been enormous improvements in LED tech in the 6-7 years since you bought your blurple

They look pretty happy and healthy to me. I would have put one layer of rocks on the bottom of the netpot and set the rockwool cube on top of that layer and then fill in with more rocks. If the water line is 2" below the netpot then the bubbles will get that bottom layer of rocks wet and the roots will grow down into it without top feeding. Top feeding won't hurt anything though and may be slightly beneficial. I think you will have some roots in a few days. Just don't let them droop. If they droop then the roots must not be finding any wetness.

Thats great info and I appreciate it. I may have put a couple or few layers of hydroton. The one thats taller has a single long root out of the bottom. Will that single root suck up water to allow the others to grow
