Beginner question - Nutrient burn or just plant cannibalizing leaves?

I would for another week or two. Looks like you still have 3-4 weeks to go. The buds will swell and get denser. Drying shrinks the buds considerably so if you harvest early you will get fluffy airy buds. I don't harvest by trichomes either. It usually leads to an early harvest. You can tell when a plant is ready to harvest just by looking at it.

Many beginners will harvest a plant that looks like this thinking it is ready. It will shrink during drying and be fluffy with subpar smoke.

When in reality it should look like this, which will retain it's nice dense structure after drying.
Beautiful!!! Ok man, hope this Auto will bulk up a bit more.

After looking up your light it appears to only be around 180w actual blurple style light. So your plant may not swell quite as much as it would with a higher output light.

What is the size of your tent?

That second pic looks like it has some swelling to do before chop. More white than brown pistils.

I know, early grower mistake. I lowered the light a bit compared to the 12" it says to keep it at.

I have a 3 x 3

It will keep pumping out pistils, and they aren't always the best method to determine when to harvest as environmental factors can cause them to brown early. Too many brown pistils will deteriorate smoke as well. I could probably take it another week or so but it's my longest flowering strain in a room that is primarily fast flowering Indica doms and I have to clear the room for the next cycle.

It cures up nice and dense though with good smoke.

I would upgrade your lighting if you can afford it. A 315w CMH or 320w LED (white samsung diodes or COB's) is perfect for a 3x3.

Nice nugs! My plant has a lot of red tint in the buds and a little purple coming out.

Ahhhhh crap, I think I cut most of it down waaaay to early. Seed company that I bought seeds from said 70-75 days but did not specify if it was total flowering time or total grow time. So I waited a total of 12 weeks from sprouting. I left a few branches on it and the buds are starting to fill out. Saw on leafly GSC autos have a 9-10 week of flowering time. I guess the test would be to try both samples and see what I like best. Will the buds from 8 weeks of flowering be grossly lower in potency than ones from 9-10?
