Thanks for your help!! I am a girl btw.
I got this food called CNS17 have you heard of it? Can you recommend something better for my situation?
I am not sure the people at the store understood the situation because I told them it was growing outside but they think I just planted it and I was trying to explain that i've been growing it for a while. They kept saying it wouldn't be ready to harvest until oct...
they also gave me something called super drop and atomic wall and some kind of flush. He explained how to use these but I am such a newb that it was in one ear out the other.
Id really like to start a mini farm up on my roof but I need to get a ladder and more supplies.
Is now the right time to cut a clone? I can go back to the shop and get cloning powder.
Right on, yes ive heard CNS 17 is some good stuff...i actually have a few samples around here somewhere. I think botanicare makes it and they are a solid nutrient company. I cant vouch for it personally but i would recommend it backed with botanicares name. Havent heard of the atomic wall or the super drop, just read the back of the bottle.
I also notice that my soil is very packed and dry. How often should I be watering her? I am notorious for overwatering and she seemed to be doing well on her own when I didn't do anything. I am worried I will kill her by being neurotic. I need some low stress training for myself.
Water her when she needs water...lol. Let her go as long as she can without water, make sure you are around before she dies tho. They are pretty drought tolerant. They are a weed remember? You will then learn what underwater looks like. After you water she should perk right up within a few hours. An overwater looks very different than an underwater. A good rule of thumb is when a few inches of top soil feels dry to the touch add some water. Yea new growers tend to just want to do something to there plants, treat it like its a tomato plant or something....
The cotyledons on some of my 2.5 week old seedlings have turned completely yellow and in some cases brown.
I haven't been feeding them, but I have been watering with tap water with an approximate pH of 7.5. Could the hard water be doing this? Or the incorrect pH? Or could it be overwatering?
I have recently fixed all those problems, but I just want to figure out what caused the problem in the first place.
The cotyledons wont last long, they serve there purpose and then die. Only worry if your cotyledons die before a second set of leaves has had time to emerge. Then you can assume the plant is dead. LOL...
I got two questions
1. When pollenating, and the seeds are developing, how long does the seed take to fully mature after the pistils have fully withdrawn into the calyx
2. This is the first time i tried water in a cup germ method, my seeds cracked their root while submerged in water, im guessing for ~ 6hours. they havent popped after 2 days in soil 1/2-1cm deep. with a cfl warming up the soil. and humidity dome. any ideas? Last one that cracked in water made no progress on roots at all afterward.
Pistils should die off within a day or two after pollination...Then id say probably 5 weeks or so...i could be wrong. I usually pollinate at week 3 and harvest fully functional seeds at week 8. I have also had plants self pollinate around week 2, i chop at week 5 and seeds are viable. I have also noticed some seeds that dont appear viable can actually still sprout. I decided to germinate a few weak looking seeds (trying to preserve genes) they actually sprouted and are growing now
For your second question....just wait 2 days isnt much time. Some seeds take a while some come up in a few days. Make sure they have fresh air and arent being overwatered. They shouldnt need the humidome, but might as well leave it now that you started using it. Just leave em be and it should be fine. Although i stated i germinated above, typically i just shove the seed in the soil (upside down or right side up) who cares right? The germinated seeds sprout just fine with no problems...seeds all sprout at different times. I notice seeds of the same strain typically sprout at the same time, not always tho.
good pics of females, males and hermis PLEASE! I cant find any good pics on here to help me?
a female looks like the bud you are gettin ready to smoke tonight. a male looks like a bud but with consisting of a ton of balls...flowers then emerge from the balls releasing pollen. hermies look like the females with a few bananas or flowers here and there. google.com click images and search male marijuana, female marijuana, or hermie marijuana.
here is a thread i started a while back...
