Beginning Closet Grow

Thinking about creating a grow in a closet that is 7'x4'x8'. I've been reading a lot on here for the past few days and have came up with a lot of good ideas but not sure which one to implement as far as the lighting, and proper soils and nutes to use.

There are very few shops for greenhouse items due to the fact that most plants here are grown outside, but there are a lot of nosy neighbors around here so its hard to do anything outside. I'm also trying to cut down on as much energy use as possible so I'm not sure which lighting would work best in my situation.. Any help, ideas, suggestions, or similar grows are more than welcome.

Thank you all for your time

that's quite a big closet, i'd go for two 600W HPS lights, best light output/watt. Also depends on if you intend to divide the closet into several sections (mothet/veg+flower), in that case you could get away with CFL for a smaller veg section, and maybe have two flowering sections (one/light) so you only need to run one light at a time if peak usage is of concern. If you run one 600W hps at a time plus some cfls then you can get away with less ventilation too (like 500cfm, double that if you want both lights running). For that many plants, you'll also need a scrubber, less ventilation = less filters, keeps costs down.

I've decided to split the closet into 3 sections. The one for veg+flower will be around 4'L x2'W x3'H. Been working on getting it divided up, walls painted, and light leaks fixed. Got ventilation coming in from under the house, and going to exhaust it out into the room for now, maybe into a charcoal filter later. Thinking about going with the CFL's and wondering how many I should get? Should I worry about trying to get a certain amount of lumens, or a certain amount of watts or how should I figure out what I need for the space?

I use T5s from SunBlaster lighting. They are a high CRI (good for plants) they are very low heat. They also are easy to install and plug and play. These make for good additonal lighting with the 55 watt cfl i use.

How much plants are you expecting to grow, if its not many like 4-8 you could grow in your backyard amongst a garden of other tall green shit :p

That would be the cheapest way + there would be really no noise and you would only have to water your garden so it would look natrual.

I found a great little ventilation fan, the TT100(4 inch) that I bought online from directfans.com. The reason I chose this particular fan was because it was cheap and quiet and pretty good quality. For my grow room I didn't need very much CFM, but they also carry a TT150(6 inch) that exhausts more air for larger areas. Hope this helps!
