Obama isn't a racist, he's a panderer to a group that the other side ignores, this simply makes political sense.
The fact of the matter is, all politicians consider themselves a couple of classes ahead of the general plebs.
The black/white/gay/straight etc is all just to divide and conquer (except the Neo-Conservatives, they're genuinely just hateful people, but both sides have that too) and thus keep the general population at war with itself.
This is why I find accusations of racism here to be completely silly, if someone is a racist you'd know right away and it involves more than using "un-PC" words.
Either way, the political class will keep fucking everyone and most people will love it as long as it's their team doing the fucking.

crime rates are always going down, cuz any other result means they suck at their jobs and should be replaced
poverty rates are always going up, since any other result indicates they dont need More big govt programs
meanwhile the left continues beating the drum for gun seizures, prohibiting self-defense, blaming the victims of crime when the perp winds up on a slab, and encouraging criminals to crime it up with their ever weakening resolve to actually punish criminals for their crimes.
