Bending the Stem

I am not sure if I just made the biggest mistake.

I am growing White Widow mother plants, but it seems like they are growing too tall.

So i bent the top down, will I need to tie it down?

I hope I didn't stress it too much.

if you crushed the stem to make it lie down it may stunt the plant but that shouldnt kill it, as worst the part you bent over could suffer.

tie them down, its a lot less stressful then bending/crushing the stalk

I tied my 3 footer down last week, pretty hard bend too...a bunch of fan leaves died and fell off along the main stem afterwards. I freaked out, I think I may have stressed it a bit too much...but it seems to be recovering alright.

I have been traing for a while, (Bending them) One thing I will say about is it depends on the plant. Like my Widow. This is my first time growing white widow and I went to train her and snap! Main stem broke in two.

I immediately pressed it back on. It stuck. Like there was some glue or something. Then and cut off the tape part from a bandaid. I wrapped it up and supported it. I am sure it will be good as new in a few weeks. Bummer is, I just flipped to 12/12 and I am not going to get the stretch out of it that I wanted.

So, I found out one of two things, Widow stalks are more brittle then others or I should never work on my plants when I am not stoned.

insted of just bending them u should try to twist them a little then bend at the same time
and if scared to do that should try to top them

try supercropping on your next grow. you can find out how to do it really easily on here. also i had to retie my grow twice because it stretched so much. the key is just don't pull down the stem down to much at once if you have a thick stem already. move it into the position you want it over the coarse of a week or two. good luck

Hey, I'm also experimenting with bending during flowering, check out my grow journal to see how successful it is!

if ur concerned about fuckin' up ur plants by bending and tieing them, my method will really scare the shit out of you - i had a plant that i actually bent the branches until they snapped inside. the plant didn't die and the extra light exposure gave me lots of nice buds along all the branches - like my son keeps reminding me...they're a weed, mom, u can't kill weeds that easily...
